Valorant Phantom Guide – Overview
The Phantom is a weapon that is mostly effective in short to medium range. It costs 2900 credits to buy, meaning it is as expensive as the Vandal. An interesting fact about the gun is that it fires 11 rounds per second, has a 5.4m/sec run speed, a 1s equip speed and a 2.5s reload speed. The magazine’s size is 30, and you have 60 extra bullets to play with.
When it comes down to the damage, it really depends on how far away you are from your target. If we take a look at the 0-15 range, we can find the following:
- Headshot – 156
- Body – 39
- Leg – 33
The 15-30m stats in this Valorant Phantom guide show the following:
- Headshot -140
- Bodt – 35
- Leg – 29
As for the 30-50m, the damage falloff is even more noticeable:
- Headshot -124
- Body -31
- Leg – 26
In other words, Phantom is way more successful when shooting at a close ranger, unlike the Vandal. With that said, you will have to learn how to adjust your shooting style when using this gun from a distance. For example, you will have to burst with slightly fewer bullets in order to increase your accuracy.
Judging from the countless hours we spent playing, bursting with the Phantom can lead to good results. While most weapons allow you to burst with 2 or 3 bullets, this one is slightly different because you can do it with 4 or 5, which means it is easier.
There are loads of things you can do to practice that, such as playing in Deathmatch. With that said, we also recommend going in a game alone and practicing your burst and strafe combo. Landing all 4 or 5 shots on an enemy will almost always result in a kill, so once you master this technique, you will become a lot more successful.
Spraying is important
Unlike in the Vandal guide, where we’ve said that spraying is not a good option, our Valorant Phantom Guide reveals this is not the case. This is one of the best weapons for spraying, as long as you know how to control it. This technique is not that hard to master, so make sure to learn more about it.
When it comes down to spraying with Phantom in Valorant, you need to remember that doing this through smoke can be extremely effective. Unlike a lot of other guns, this one is almost impossible to identify where the shots are coming from. That’s why we’ve decided to include this in this Valorant Phantom Guide.
Now that you know that your enemies can’t locate your position, use this to your advantage and spam damage through the smoke.
Wallbanging is an option
Through our trial and error, we discovered that Phantom is one of the weapons that you can definitely use to wall bang in Valorant. Yet, this is not something you will find in every Valorant Phantom Guide, which is strange, to say the least.
The reason why this gun in Valorant is not bad for wall banging is because of its medium bullet penetration. In other words, you should utilize this when possible because your opponents won’t expect it. Keep in mind you have a lot of bullets to work with, so doing some damage through walls is not a bad idea.
Aim Down Sight
Another thing we need to talk about in this Valorant Phantom Guide is related to the Aim Down Sight technique. You can use this option when trying to shoot at someone who is far away, but you need to remember that it will only work if you know how to burst. Spraying with this option is definitely not a good idea, and you won’t be able to take full advantage of the weapon. Even though you lose some of your fire rate, this option can be a solid option, depending on the situation.
Which agents to use when you want to play with a Phantom?
While it is true that you can use this gun when playing with pretty much any agent, our experience shows us that some perform much better than others. For example, controllers and scan initiators tend to be better than the rest, especially those who can play around with their smokes. As mentioned earlier in this Valorant Phantom Guide, this weapon is amazing for spraying through smoke, so you should use it to your advantage.
Going back to the agents, names like Omen and Viper are pretty good with the guns. Feel free to practice and see what works best for you.
