VALORANT Mobile Name Confirmed By China’s Licensing Board

“Valorant: Operation Primal” has been greenlit by the NPPA, China's government body in charge of video game licensing.

Riot has secured a Chinese game license for their upcoming Valorant mobile game. The first-person shooter's mobile port was rumored for release this year. This development is our first concrete update on Valorant's next iteration.

Here's everything we know about the upcoming Valorant mobile game!

VALORANT Mobile Approved By China's Licensing Board

VALORANT Mobile Secures License in China

The National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) is China's regulatory body for video game licensure. This means a videogame doesn't get into the country without their say-so. And they just approved the license for Valorant Mobile.

The official list of approved games was released on June 5, 2024. And the 13th item on the list translated as “Dauntless Contract: Operation Source Energy”. Dauntless Contract is what Valorant is called in China.

The leader of 404LEAKS @PlayerIGN, shared the license posting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

This serves as our first confirmation of Valorant mobile, though the title will probably be under a new name. “Operation Source Energy” could refer to the Radiants' ability to harness cosmic energies. But only time will tell.

We'll probably be getting an announcement trailer pretty soon. China is #1 when it comes to video game consumer markets. So it makes sense for Riot to hold off on any trailers before getting their operating license.
