The Dota 2 Patch 7.35d is here, but besides the hero and item changes, there are also new matchmaking features. Let’s learn more about them.

If you’ve checked our Dota 2 7.35d patch analysis, you already know that the game offered us a lot of hero and item changes. With that said, this is not the only new thing because Valve has also decided to add new matchmaking features. We know that they are important, so this Dota 2 Patch 7.35d article will show you everything you need to know about them.]

One of the first new things players can access following the Dota 2 Patch 7.35d is the Matchaking Hero Ban process. According to Valve, the company took action and banned a lot of cheaters recently. While doing this, it decided to analyze these cheats and found out that some of them allowed players to get an unfair advantage in the ten-second hero ban phase at the start of the game.

After realizing this, the Dota 2 team decided to step back and think carefully about why it was added in the first place. It seems like the goals of this feature were not met because following the Dota 2 Patch 7.35d, Valve decided to remove this feature. Instead, players will have access to special ban preferences that will be stored on their accounts.

Once you load the hero tab, you can choose 4 heroes that you don’t want to play against. After doing this and joining a game, you will be guaranteed that one of the heroes won't be in your game. Don’t worry, Valve allows you to change the heroes on that list whenever you want to. Also, Valve said that there are no advantages to leaving a specific ban slot empty.

According to Valve, the new matchmaking hero ban rework fixes a couple of problems with the previous one. You no longer have to “race against the clock” or miss out on a ban because you have forgotten.

It is worth knowing that specific game modes, such as Captain’s Draft, Ability Draft, Captains Mode, and Turbo did not have a pre-game ban phase, and they won’t have one now.

Dota Plus Pre-Match Matchmaker Analytics

The second new feature after the arrival of the Dota 2 Patch 7.35d is the Dota Plus Pre-Match Matchmaker Analytics. This is an incredibly useful and fun feature that we believe a lot of you will like. The goal behind it is to allow people to get the best possible matchmaking experience based on their preferences.

This new Dota Labs feature will only be available to Dota Plus members at first. Once you decide to queue up for a game and that game comes, you can learn more about how the matchmaker evaluated the specific match. This will give you access to information like the estimated skill range and the behavior score of players.

Once that happens, you will have the option to decide whether you want to accept the match or queue again. Needless to say, this is a really impressive change that we believe a lot of you will like it.

What’s interesting about the Pre-Match Matchmaker Analytic tool following the Dota 2 Patch 7.35d is that it will not give you any competitive advantage. This means that you can’t tell if your team has the skill advantage or if it is on the downside.

Conclusion

Dota Plus members will have the chance to experiment with the feature, whereas others will have to wait. Speaking of waiting, the Dota 2 Crownfall update should arrive in mid-April, so stay tuned for that.
