DotA Players Who Are Still Active In Dota 2

Many of the best DotA players are still active in Dota 2 today. Some are playing, whereas others are coaching, so let’s learn more about all of them.

Dota 2 is a game that has been around for more than 12 years at this point. Most of the top-tier players nowadays, such as bzm, Nisha, and others, haven’t had a professional DotA career before. However, this does not mean that everyone is like that.

Nowadays, there are several big Dota 2 players and coaches that have been around for many years. All of them were big names in DotA, so it’s no surprise they were also among the best once Dota 2 came out. This is not true today because most of these players haven’t had much success lately, but they continue to be a part of the game.

With that said, here are some of the DotA players who are still active in Dota 2. Let’s learn more about them.

Clement “Puppey” Ivanov

DotA Players Who Are Still Active In Dota 2

When it comes down to professional  Dota 2 players who have been a part of the DotA pro scene, the first name that comes to mind is Puppey. The 34-year-old start started his DotA career in 2007, when he played for XsK. After that,  Puppey was also a part of Ks.int, Blight.int, Nirvana.int, NWO, and GosuGamers.

Once Dota 2 was introduced, Puppey played for Natus Vincere b between 2011 and 2014, which was when he won The International. For the last 10 years, Puppey has been a part of Team Secret, where he also won numerous events.

Clement is a living Dota 2 legend and for a good reason. He has had a key role in many of the teams he was a part of. If we take a look at his DotA adventures, we can see that KS.int was one of his best squads. Together with Puppey, the team won the DotA-League-Masters. Earlier, Puppey played with KuroKy in KingSurf.International, which was when the two met and became good friends.

Speaking of KuroKy (he will be the next name on the list), he and Puppey also played together at Team Secret in 2014, but this did not last long. As for TS, Puppey has been in a team with pretty much all of the big names in Dota 2.

We already have a separate article about KuroKy, so we won’t cover the same information.  With that said, it is important to realize that he is a living legend and among the DotA players who are still active in Dota 2.

Unlike Puppey, KuroKy does not have such a glamorous career in DotA. Sure, he played for a couple of big teams and in-house leagues, but most people will remember him for the Online Kingdom and mousesports.

Once Dota 2 arrived, Kuro played for a couple of teams in the first few years before eventually joining Natus Vincere, where he spent around 1 year. After that, he played for Team Spirit, followed by 5Jungs, and then Team Liquid.

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin

Every single game and sport has one name that is above the rest in terms of popularity. When it comes down to Dota 2 and DotA, this name is Dendi.

The Ukrainian player is a living legend and was considered the best Dota 2 midder in the world many years ago. He is mostly famous for being a part of Natus Vincere for over 9 years.

Speaking of Na’Vi, he became a part of the team in late 2010 and the squad quickly became one of the best in DotA. Before that, Dendi played for DTS Gaming and KS.Int.

Once Dota 2 was released, Na’Vi transitioned into the new game with a very interesting roster. This allowed Dendi and the rest to win the first The International. Even though each of Na’Vi’s quad was amazing, there is no arguing that Dendi was the team’s star and one of the big reasons for its success.

The bad news for Dendi is that his career hasn’t been doing well since he left Na’Vi. After playing for several clubs, the Ukranian powerhouse eventually created B8. Despite trying out several players, he wasn’t able to do much.

Dendi is among the DotA players who are still active in Dota 2, and we expect this to continue to be the case.

Zhang “xiao8” Ning

DotA Players Who Are Still Active In Dota 2

When talking about DotA players who are still active in Dota 2, we need to mention a living Chinese legend, xiao8 is not one of the players you will find in action because he decided to become a captain in 2018. Before that, however, xiao8 played for many big teams.

Not a lot of people know much about Xiao8’s DotA career, but he has been a part of a few big teams. Dream is perhaps the most popular one, because he played alongside Yao, DD, SJQ, and Li.

As for Dota 2, the 35-year-old start has been a part of LGD.cn, Newbee, LGD Gaming, Big God, and more. At the time of writing, Xiao8 is LGD Gaming’s coach.

Daryl “iceiceice” Koh

The last name we want to include on the list is often known as the best Timbersaw player in the world. Iceiceice is a 33-year-old player from Singapore that many people think is the best offlaner. He has won many different rewards in Dota 2, and currently, he is a content creator for Bleed Esports.

What’s interesting about iceiceice is that he used to play for the team before taking the role of a CC. Prior to that, he was a part of many big teams, such as SMG Team SMG, Team Secret, EG, Fnatic, Mineski, and much more.

In his DotA career, iceiceice played for a few big teams, such as Zenith, mVp, KingSurf, and AEON.sg. He has always been a force to be reckoned with, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to make a comeback.

Other notable names

These were just some of the DotA players who are still active in Dota 2. Blizzard’s WarCraft III gave us access to many other top-tier names, such as s4, XBOST, and many more. Sadly, some of those players are not active anymore. It will be interesting to see if they decide to make a comeback.
