Nova
Nova climbed their way to third place after a hard fought week, defeating LGD 3-0 and W.EDGM 3-2. After a rough start to the season, Nova is starting to look like the World Champion team that they are. Lciop had an exceptionally strong performance beating Auk in his 1v1 set against LGD, winning his 1v1 set against W.EDGM and then all killing the entire team in King of the Hill! Lciop climbed the most ranks this week in our 1v1 rankings, jumping 24 spots up to 5th place.
Newbee
Newbee finished the week on top after scrapping a win off JDG 3-2 with impressive play from Plaque. Plaque made his 1v1 debut this week defeating Quiet Time, King and S from JDG. Next week Newbee has a tough match against LGD. We may see a clash of titans as the #1 ranked player, Jiu.Bao, could face the #2 ranked player Peas.
X-Quest
They cannot catch a break and continue their losing streak. X-Quest loses 3-2 to LGD as they are unable to stop the force that is Jiu.Bao who clobbers Houyi and Granzort to win the King of the Hill set. X-Quest looks like they will not be making playoffs this season but they can still shift the rankings with a few upsets if they can manage to beat one of the higher ranked teams.
Gen.G
Gen.G surprised viewers with victories over JDG (3-0) and WE (3-2) this week which has earned them second place in the team rankings. D.King came in clutch for Gen.G with a quick 2-0 victory over Novice in the match against JDG and a hard-fought victory over one of WE’s best players, sunDY. He then sealed the WE match in King of the Hill, defeating magician and once again sunDY. D.King earned third in the 1v1 rankings with this stellar performance.
Meta
Bans were fairly evenly distributed this week with a slight favor of Golem and Baby Dragon bans. The Golem bans are a little surprising considering the popularity of Miner Poison and Miner Balloon decks that include Inferno Tower. The Baby Dragon ban makes more sense as it is a very strong and versatile card used in a lot of decks. Battle Ram and Miner Poison decks were the most popular, totaling over 40% of win conditions used (approximately 20% each).
Deck of the Week
Royal Hog decks have been overshadowed in CRL China but one of the more interesting variations used this week included Sparky and Elixir Collector. This is a fun deck that allows the user to gain an elixir advantage and then defend with strong cards such as Sparky and Rascals and then push one or both lanes using Royal Hogs in combination with your counter push. Card Substitutions: Bandit for Lumberjack and Barbarian Barrel for Skeletons.
