HCS 2023 Charlotte Major
The first Major of the HCS 2023 season begins February 24th and continues until February 26th. While the 4v4 tournament will be the highlight competition for the event, there will also be a $5,000 Free-For-All tournament open to all attendees of the event. The event will be held in the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event will be streamed for online views on both the Halo and Halo Esports Twitch and the Halo Esports YouTube channels.
Qualified Teams
As of now, the seven teams listed as HCS Partnered Teams are OpTic Gaming, FaZe Clan, Sentinels, Spacestation Gaming, NAVI, Quadrant, and Complexity. That makes a total of five North American teams, and two European teams automatically qualified for the Charlotte Major. Most of these teams are already well known for their former, and first season of HCS. OpTic are still running on a high note following the HCS Championship, and teams like Sentinels, FaZe, and Spacestation are all coming to prove that they've got more in the tank than the way they ended the 2022 season.
Expectations are a heavy weight to hold, so with all eyes on these teams, with expectations for one of them to win the entire Major, they have more pressure than anybody on their shoulders. The Charlotte Major will be the starting point for the entire 2023 season putting one team above all others and setting them a more likely path for the HCS Championship at the end of the year.
