When talking about some of the best Dota 2 players, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev is undoubtedly one of the first names that comes to mind.

Known as one of the best carries/mid laners, he is also one of the biggest streamers. The Arteezy Dota 2 Twitch often gathers thousands of fans who want to learn and be entertained by Artour’s comments.

Born on July 1, 1996, Arteezy is a Canadian/Uzbek player who will go down in history as one of the best. He was born in Tashkent but moved to Canada when he was just 2 years old. Let’s learn more important details.

Before checking the current Arteezy Dota 2 team, it’s time to learn more about the player’s first steps. According to the data we have, he began playing StarCraft II and DotA and was pretty good at both. However, this was when Dota 2 became available, so the young star decided to switch to the new game.

The Arteezy Dota 2 stats show that he started playing in 2013, which means he was just 17 years old. This was when he joined Kaipi, his first Dota 2 team. Sadly, thighs did not work well, so he moved to Take Five.

Even though things did not go well, the Arteezy Dota 2 rank kept getting higher, so more and more people started noticing the player. This allowed him to play for Speed Gaming because he had to replace bOne7, a well-known player then. This was the opportunity he needed to shine because Arteezy played extremely well against many of the big names back then, such as Dendi and Mushi.

Besides the growing Arteezy Dota 2 net worth, his popularity also grew, which led to 2014. This was when he and Fear, UNiVeRsE, zai, and PPD created a team called S A D B O Y S. The squad quickly became one of the most dominant forces in North America, as well as one of the best teams in the world.

The Evil Geniuses and Team Secret Era

Following the success of S A D B O Y S, the organization was approached by none other than Evil Geniuses. Just a few weeks after forming, EG became the Dota 2 Arteezy new team, which meant it was his first big organization.

The next couple of years were interesting, to say the least, because EG won countless events. Artour was a part of most of them, but between 2014 and 2016, he moved between EG and Team Secret 3 times in total. Sadly, he was unable to be a part of the TI 5 winning squad with Evil Geniuses, which means he has not won the Aegis yet.

After moving between TS and EG, Artour eventually chose his first club in late 2016 and remained a part of it until 2022.  This was when EG decided to drop their roster.

Shopify Rebellion

If you take a look at the Arteezy Dota 2 Instagram or any of his other social media, you will see that Shopify Rebellion is his current team. SR is basically EG’s old roster because the organization decided to give the roster a try following EG’s decision.

Arteezy Dota 2 Stats

There is no arguing that the Dota 2 Arteezy MMR is high, and one of the reasons for it is the player’s incredible individual skill. In fact, many people think he has some of the best mechanical skills in the game, so it’s no surprise he has achieved many impressive results.

We’ve already mentioned that the player has not won The International yet. However, he has other impressive stats, such as:

  • The Manila Masters
  • ESL One Frankfurt 2015
  • The Summit 3
  • MarsTV Dota 2 League 2015 Spring
  • StarLadder StarSeries Season 10
ESL One Birmingham 2024 Overview - Prize, Dates, Teams, Favorites

What you will notice is that most of Arteezy’s biggest accomplishments took place more than 5 years ago. That’s because EG (now Shopify Rebellion) hasn’t been that strong lately. The team is dominating the local region (North America), but it is struggling against some of the best squads in Western and Eastern Europe.

Arteezy’s Best Dota 2 heroes

As mentioned, Arteezy is a well-known carry player. However, there were also times when he played as a mid-laner. This means that his hero pool is impressive, and he can play many heroes on the highest possible level.

Having said that, the player is more famous for using the following options:

  • Terrorblade
  • Shadow Fiend
  • Naga Siren
  • Lycan
  • Ursa

Starting with Terrorblade, the latter has always been one of the tops carries in professional matches, so it’s no surprise Arteezy is good with him. The same is true for Naga Siren because many people think he is the best Naga player in the world.

Shadow Fiend is an interesting option because it’s not the go-to option for Arteezy. However, in situations where he is the team’s midder or he has to play SF as carry, he has proven to be really good. Some players even consider Artour to be the best SF player in the world.

Lycan is another of RTZ’s signature heroes. In fact, he is among the few players who have been using Lycan, even in a meta where the hero hasn’t been that good. The same is true for Ursa, and most people associate the hero with RTZ because of a rare set he used.

There is no arguing that Arteezy is one of those Dota 2 players that will go down in history. Even though he has yet to lift the Aegis, Artour is an amazing player, and we expect to continue to see him in action. Considering he has been in the North American Dota 2 scene for so long, we wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to move to another region.
