TikTok Enters the Esports World for Multi Tournament Cup

Though they haven’t assumed world domination quite yet, the video app Tik Tok sure knows how to ride the hype train.

TikTok has officially partnered with Collegiate StarLeague, one of the most world-renowned esports organizations, to create a new type of tournament.

The Tik Tok Cup matches (and prizes) are pretty killer. Approximately $60,000 will be going to the top teams across a mix of popular esports titles. Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Rocket League are the games mentioned so far, but there might be more to come.

Even if you aren’t into watching the tournament itself, Tik Tok will be giving away prizes to any and all players who send in TikTok videos for staff consideration. Some of these will also be shown on the tournament broadcast live for fans. It will be interesting to see Tik Tok broadcast this event. There is no doubt thousands upon thousands of fans old and new will tune in to watch the Cup.

The gaming community has been exceptionally popular with TikTok. Lots of videos on the app featuring games, video game commentary, and meme parody videos. The app itself has been steadily growing in popularity among esports teams as well. Some of the top esports organizations like 100 Thieves, FaZe Clan, and Team SoloMid all active on the platform.
