Lightning has officially struck twice in the Apex Legends esports scene. Team SoloMid, consisting of members Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen, MacKenzie “Albralelie” Beckwith, and Jordan “Reps” Wolfe, have officially won back-to-back Apex Legends tournaments by winning the Preseason Invitational in Alvernia, Poland. They beat out Eastern European team Natus Vincere, who came in second, and Korean dark horse team Wyvern, who placed third. This victory for Team SoloMid marks their second consecutive tournament victory in the Apex Legends competitive scene, their first being at the X Games.
This wasn’t the only major news that dropped today about Apex Legends. The casters there also revealed that new seasonal rewards are coming to the Ranked mode, including tier-specific gun charms, and new jump trails for those who place in the Diamond or Apex Predator tiers. Casters mentioned that this would be far from the last tournament to be held for Apex Legends, noting that this is a “Preseason” tournament. Scant details were revealed, however. All that was mentioned was that there would be “online and offline events, making stars from all across the world.” We’ll have to see precisely what that means, but one thing’s for sure – EA and Respawn aren’t done with Apex Legends esports.
