In a few hours, the Apex Legends Global Series 2024 (or ALGS 2024) will finally kick off for its Split 1 Playoffs; a big-ticket LAN event that only happens once a year.

The major circuit takes place in Los Angeles, USA in the massive 10,000-seater Galen Center. The massive four-day LAN tournament will see 40 of the best Apex Legends teams in the world compete for the lion's share of $1,000,000.

ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs Format

The auspicious event will showcase clutch plays by the best Legends in the competitive esports scene. Here's how the ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs format works.

With all five regions (NA, EMEA, APAC North, APAC South and South America) having wrapped their domestic Challenger Circuits, the highest-ranking teams now converge for the first split of international Playoffs.

Groups Stage

• 40 teams are split into four groups.
• Groups play against each other in a “Round-robin Format”.
• Lasts from May 2-3.
• Top 20 teams go to the Winner's Bracket.
• Bottom 20 teams go to the Loser's Bracket (Round 1).

Bracket Stage

Winner's Bracket

• 20 teams play six games against each other in a “1 Match Series.”
• Scheduled for May 4.
• Top 10 teams advance to the Finals.
• Bottom 10 teams drop to the Loser's Bracket (Round 2).

Loser's Bracket (Round 1)

• 20 teams play six games against each other in a “1 Match Series.”
• Scheduled for May 4.
• Top 10 teams advance to the Loser's Bracket (Round 2).
• Bottom 10 teams get eliminated from ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs.

Loser's Bracket (Round 2)

• 20 teams play six games against each other in a “1 Match Series.”
• Scheduled for May 4.
• Top 10 teams advance to the Finals.
• Bottom 10 teams get eliminated from ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs.

Finals

• The remaining 20 teams compete for the first 50 points and a 1st-place finish in the “Match Point Format.”
• The 10 teams from the Winner's Bracket will receive Advance Starting Points based on their placement.
• Scheduled for May 5.
