Season 3 has been out for a few weeks now, and we’re yet to see the mid-season updates. Players from all ranks have had the chance to play a lot and test all sorts of heroes. We’ve already provided you with a list of a few names that might use buffs, but some heroes are in a pretty good spot right now.
With that said, it’s time to provide you with a complete Overwatch 2 Season 3 Hero Tier List and show you the hottest options in the meta right now. We might see some changes once the mid-season patch arrives, but until then, here is what to focus on.
S-Tier
When it comes down to S-Tier heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 3, there are a couple of names you should pay attention to. People from different brackets use these heroes because they’re stronger than the rest, at least in the given meta. Consequently, each name you’re about to see is worth picking.
Reinhardt
The first S-Tier hero on the list is a Tank, and his name is Reinhardt. The latter got significant buffs in Season 3, which makes him one of the best overall tanks in the game. Hence, people are usually not surprised he has one of the highest win rates across all skill groups.
Cassidy
Even though we’ve mentioned how Cassidy might need an ability rework because his grenade just doesn’t seem that exciting, it is compelling. Doing more than 130 damage with a single ability on a 10s cooldown makes him among the best in the meta.
Soldier:76
When discussing the Overwatch 2 Season 3 Heres Tier List, we must include Soldier: 76 in the S-Tier. He was good in S2, but the buffs to his recoil have made him even better. Following the changes, the hero is even better among lower-ranked players.
Mercy
Of course, Season 3 of OW 2 also has its top-tier supports, and Mercy is among them. The rework to her passive ability makes her one of the best healers in the game. Needless to say, she is incredibly popular with heroes like Soldier and Cassidy.
Ramattra
Despite the nerfs Ramattra received in Season 3, he deserves a spot in the S-Tier because he’s among the best in the game. The hero is strong in all kinds of lineups, making him the preferred option for many players.
Kiriko
Of course, we can’t make an Overwatch 2 Season 3 Heroes List and not include Kiriko in the S-Tier. She’s been the leading Overwatch 2 support since she became available, and this hasn’t changed in S3.
Junkrat
Many players underestimate Junkrat, but there’s no arguing that he is among the best heroes in the game right now. He is one of the few Overwatch 2 DPS that can do a lot simply by existing.
Sojourn
Despite the nerfs and the fact that there are better heroes in the lower Overwatch 2 brackets, Sojourn is among the best in the game. Together with Mercy, these two heroes can be a nightmare to go up against.
A-Tier
Moving away from the strongest heroes in the meta right now, the next group is the A-Tier. The latter consists of Overwatch 2 Season 3 heroes that are also really good but are not as “optimized” as the best in the meta.
Ana
As one of the most popular supports across all skill brackets, Ana is always a solid option in any meta. This one isn’t an exception, so the hero deserves a spot on this Overwatch 2 Season 3 Heroes Tier List.
Tracer
Albeit hard to play, Tracer is just one of those heroes that can easily carry games on its own, as long as the person knows how to use it. She may not be the go-to DPS, but she deserves to be on this Overwatch 2 Season 3 Heroes Tier List.
Lucio
While talking about healers, we also have to include Lucio. Even though he isn’t that popular in the lower-tier Overwatch 2 games, the hero has many fans among the best players because of his insane utility.
Baptiste
The combo between Baptiste and Rein is becoming more popular by the day. This Overwatch 2 support can deal as much damage as a DPS, he has Immortality and is incredibly hard to kill.
Sigma
Sigma is a powerful tank in the meta and probably one of the best on some maps. Although he is hard to master, people who know how to use his offensive capabilities can make a difference when playing.
D.Va
The next tank that can work well in the current meta is D.Va. The latter is the go-to option for many players because of her offensive capabilities and hardiness. Although she may not feel as strong as Ramattra, she’s definitely up there.
Orisa
Some players may consider Orisa to be an S-Tier hero, and for a reason. However, the damage fallout nerf she received in Season 3 has an impact on her efficiency. That’s why we’ve decided to put the hero in the A-Tier.
Wrecking Ball
If you want to play a hero that’s almost impossible to kill and can do tons of damage, Ball is one of the go-to options. He is hardy and has the potential to carry his team.
Ashe
If you want to play a top-tier Overwatch 2 DPC in Season 3, Ashe is one of the go-to options. Following the nerfs to Widowmaker, she became even more popular among players who want to dominate the mid and long-range fights.
Echo
Echo is a hero who can be a real pain, especially in combination with Mercy. Although her ultimate isn’t as strong as in OW 1, she can be incredibly dangerous in all sorts of situations.
Widowmaker
Despite the nerfs to Widowmaker that made her squishier than before, the hero is still a beast in the hands of those who know how to use her. Unsurprisingly, she is way more popular among the best OW 2 players.
Junker Queen
Junker Queen’s most recent buffs made the hero a lot stronger than before. Nevertheless, she’s not on the same level as the top tanks in the game. Furthermore, she’s much squishier than most of them, which makes her harder to master.
B-Tier
The Overwatch 2 Season 3 Heroes Tier List also has a B-Tier, where you can find good heroes, but only in specific scenarios. Most options here can work, but people must be careful because they’re not as strong as the rest.
Moira
Starting with Moira, she’s a pretty popular healer right now, especially after the buffs in Season 3. Yet, the hero is not that good against enemies like Widowmaker and Sojourn.
Zenyatta
Even though he is one of the best overall Overwatch 2 supports, the hero has no defensive abilities. He is also among the few heroes in the game with no mobility, which is why he’s in this tier.
Pharah
Pharah is a situational hero that can work on certain maps and when people use her alongside Mercy. However, she’s unreliable and is easily countered by all snipers in Overwatch 2.
Reaper
Even though Reaper is usually among the best DPS heroes against tanks, he’s not that good right now. Sure, his damage output is pretty impressive in close range, but tanks are way stronger than before, meaning his job isn’t as easy.
Winston
Winston is a tank that can work in dive setups, which are popular right now. Nevertheless, he’s not as good as Ramattra or Rein, which explains why we don’t see him often.
Roadhog
Hog is a beast in some setups, even after the nerfs to his one-shot ability. However, he is not as strong as before, so most people prefer using other Overwatch 2 tanks.
Genji
Genji is a hero that should receive some kind of buff because he isn’t that good outside the Nanoblade combo. Nevertheless, he is one of the most annoying heroes in the game, so he can work in some situations.
Torbjörn
Torb is one of the best Overwatch 2 DPS heroes when you want to escape Elo Hell. However, the hero is not that good versus enemies who know what they’re doing, which is one of the reasons why we’ve put him in the B-Tier.
Bastion
Bastion has been in a strange position for years, and Overwatch 2 Season 3 hasn’t didn’t change it. Although we can see the hero every now and then, he is yet to become the go-to DPS hero.
Brigitte
Lastly, we have Brigitte, the Overwatch 2 support that received the most buffs in the last couple of weeks. Although they made the hero more popular, she’s not the best support in the game yet. That said, she can work well in many situations.
C-Tier
The C-Tier list has heroes who aren’t as good as the rest. Even though they may work under specific scenarios, most people will probably avoid getting them unless necessary.
Mei
Even though you may find some people who’re interested in this hero, generally speaking, Mei is not as good as the other DPS. Her utility isn’t as good as before, and she’s not a reliable damage dealer, at least in most cases.
Hanzo
Although deadly in the hands of those who can utilize him properly, Hanzo is better than before. The hero needs some rework, so we expect to see changes to his Storm Arrows.
Symmetra
Despite its insanely-high win rate in the lower brackets and on Console, Symmetra is just not good in the current meta. She isn’t that strong against divers, which is bad news because this Overwatch 2 strat is popular right now.
Sombra
If you’re looking for one of the worst Overwatch 2 DPS heroes in Season 3, you should check out Sombra. The nerfs from a few months ago made her weak and unable to deal with their opponents. Consequently, she is one of the least-popular Overwatch 2 heroes in the game.
Doomfirst
Doomfist had its few weeks of glory, but the nerfs made the hero feel somewhat weak after that. You can find him in a game from time to time, but he’s not as good as the other popular tanks.
Zarya
Zarya is a pretty good option to get when you want to counter a particular hero, such as Oirsa. However, she’s not as strong as before, which is one of the reasons why most people avoid her.
