Team Liquid's support is the league's most valuable player.
The LCS has announced their pick for the 2020 Summer Honda MVP Award and its none other than Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in. The Team Liquid support has had an amazing split, enabling and carrying his team countless times. He was also awarded a spot on the 1st LCS All-Pro team and its really no surprise he won the award. With this, Team Liquid sweeps every award for the split. Edward “Tactical” Ra won Rookie of the Split, while the team won Coaching Staff of the Split too.
It truly has been an incredible split for TL, all things considered. Despite having an awful Spring Split, the squad rebounded under the guidance of Joshua “Jatt' Leesman. They took back the LCS' #1 spot from Cloud9 and cemented themselves at the top once again. From 9th to 1st, the journey certainly wouldn't have been possible without CoreJJ. Most noted for his Bard play this split, he was a driving force behind the team's success, even with a rookie AD Carry.
For those who don't know, this is CoreJJ's second MVP title. On top of that, he's a former World Champion and has been a part of the Team Liquid roster that dominated NA in 2018 and 2019. The only other player to have multiple MVP awards is Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg. Funnily enough, he was the runner-up for this vote.
Team Liquid is locked in for Worlds this year, but is looking for another title. They dropped a series against FlyQuest and have an upcoming series against TSM. TSM is hot off a win against Cloud9 and will be a potent adversary. Regardless, they'll be leaning on CoreJJ's skill in their upcoming endeavors!
