This is the first time Rick “GiG” Salazar will step on the Overwatch League scene. He previously played with XL2 Academy, New York Excelsior’s academy team. Furthermore, GiG placed 2nd in the Overwatch Contenders 2019 Season 2: North America West and 5-6th in the Overwatch Contenders 2019: The Gauntlet. He took a break in November and became a free agent, before joining Los Angeles Valiant this January.

The name of Park “RaiN” Jae-ho may ring a bell to Overwatch League fans. This support player was part of Florida Mayhem during the 2019 season, until the roster sweep last June. Jae-ho will fill in the void left by Scott “Custa” Kennedy, who left the team to join the Overwatch League analyst desk.
RaiN already proved that he has good enough mechanics for the Overwatch League, especially on heroes such as Lucio or Mercy. However, he is a bit shy on communications, while Custa was the team’s leader. Caleb “McGravy” McGarvey might take this position, but as a tank player instead of support.
Los Angeles Valiant will begin Overwatch League Season 3 on February 8, against Dallas Fuel.
