Some of the best equipment can take a little while to unlock, this is how you can get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16 and one of the best vambraces in the game.
Final Fantasy 16 has tons of abilities and items which provide major boosts. One of the best in its category is going to be the Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16. This accessory is locked behind a little side quest in the FF 16 Hideaway. If you can pick it up though, it’s going to be one of the more effective pieces of equipment. The path to get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16 isn’t too complicated, but if you want to get it as quick as possible there are a few hiccups on the way like a boss fight.
The Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16 is locked behind a specific side quest, and you’ll need to reach a certain point in the story to get access to it at all. This is just a single piece of equipment you get as a reward though, not a core mechanic like riding Chocobos in FF 16, so why head straight over to unlock it? There are some key reasons you’ll want to get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16 as soon as possible.
The Founder’s Grasp isn’t the best item in the game, but for the point in the title that you get it, the vambrace has some of the best stats here. It has an amazing defence stat which can really boost your abilities in combat. It’s got some of the greatest stats out of all vambraces, and can make the later part of the game quite a bit easier. We’ll run you through how to get the Founder’s Grasp to unlock this boost for the next part of the game.
Where Do You Get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16?
Like most things in ff 16, you can unlock the Founder’s Grasp by completing a side quest which gives you special items as a reward. Completing all the side quests you can is important for levelling up enough, and can even help you with farming Gil in FF 16. To get the Founder’s Grasp in ff 16 you’re going to need to complete a sub-quest called Where There’s a Will.
This is a side quest that you can find in the Hideaway. However, it won’t be active until you hit a specific point in the main quest. You’ll have to get past the Back to their Origin quest in the main storyline! That might mean you’ll have to grind levels in FF XVI to get to this point and start working towards this item.
Once you’ve reached this spot in the game, you’ll need to head over to the Hideaway and talk to Joshua. He’ll give you a letter which starts the side quest off in full. It’s a fairly simple task, but it does have a few stages and a boss fight in it. This is how you can run through the quest to get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16.
Where There’s a Will Side Quest
After talking to Joshua, head over to Tabor for the next step to get the Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16. You can likely use fast travel in FF 16 to make this a bit quicker! Once you’re there, enter a house and head over to the marker on your map for the Requietory. Then talk to the character here. They’ll give you another spot to head to before you get into the tougher section of the quest.
Defeat Simurgh to Get the Founder's Grasp in FF 16
The next area is south of where you are, Titan’s Wake. Once you reach here, you’re going to have to head into a boss fight! This isn’t the hardest one in the game, but it would benefit you to know most of the mechanics and best abilities well at this point. You’re taking on Simurgh. It’s a boss character but one that’s easy to beat once you get the hang of their attacks.
This attacks in two main patterns, the first is tornado attacks. The second is a series of ground slams with electric shocks. The best strategy is to time your attacks around his attack patterns, and then roll in with some of the better abilities. It’s not too tough of a fight if you’ve been levelling up properly though.
Once you’ve defeated Simurgh, you’ll get some rewards. There’s a Sharp Fang, Heartstone, and Wyrrite, which is a nice bonus. You’re also free to continue on your quest to get the Founder’s Grasp though. Return to Tabor and talk to Goditha who will give you more information on the plot surrounding this quest, but you’re able to head onto the final stage now. For this part, all you need to do is go to Hawk’s Cry Cliff. Here you’ll find a memorial.
The Memorial
This is a simple final stage to get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16. All you need to do is interact with the memorial, which finishes the quest off. It will though launch into a cut scene to round off the entire storyline. At the end of this, you’ll get the rewards for completing the whole thing which is a nice bonus. You’re also going to get the Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16 at this point. In all it shouldn’t take you too long to unlock the Vambrace and the prize is definitely worth it.
What is the Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16?
The Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16 is a Vambrace. It offers 94 defence and 50 HP. This isn’t the top for each rank in the game, but it’s definitely one of the better pieces in the Vambrace category. In the lore of FF 16, these would have been gifts from Archduke Elwin to his sons once they finally came of age. The great stats make these a good item to have, but it’s nice there’s a decent lore link behind the Founder’s Grasp in Final Fantasy 16 too.
There are tons of accessories and other items in FF 16 that can really help you get through the game. Playing through side quests (like the one to get the Founder’s Grasp in FF 16) is a great way to expand your options in-game. They also carry some of the most important cutscenes for the characters though, as this vambrace quest does.
