Building a character is an integral part of playing Honkai Star Rail and in that, relics play an extremely important role. This article will dive into the best relic set for every character in the game so that you know what each unit should equip!

Best Relics for Each Character

Each character follows a certain path, inflicting the damage of a specific type. The sets that are best for them are correlated with their path and type, apart from their kit. This article is divided into 7 types with their paths written in brackets.

Fire Characters

• Asta (Harmony): 4 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. This relic set increases Asta’s SPD by 6% as well as her allies by 12% for 1 turn, whenever she uses her Ultimate which is something you would do often when she is in your party.
• Guinaifen (Nihility): 4 Piece of Firesmith of Lava-Forging. This set enhances Fire damage and skill damage, with the 4-piece allowing an increased Fire DMG for the next attack after using her Ultimate.
• Himeko (Erudition): 4 Piece of The Ashblazing Grand Duke. Since Himeko does follow-up attacks, this relic set provides her bonus damage. When Himeko uses a follow-up attack against the same enemy, her ATK increases by 6% per follow-up attack, stacking up to 8 times and lasting for 3 turns.
• Hook (Destruction): 4 Piece of Firesmith of Lava-Forging. Just like Guinaifen, this set is optimal for Hook, enhancing her skill damage and boosting her fire damage after Ultimate is used.
• Topaz and Numby (The Hunt): 2 Piece of The Ashblazing Grand Duke + 2 Piece of Musketeer of Wild Wheat. Since most of her damage comes from Numby’s follow-up attacks and her damage also scales off ATK, a mix of these two relics can result in big numbers from Topaz and Numby.
• Trailblazer (Preservation): 4 Piece of Knight of Purity Palace. This increases DEF, leading to higher damage output and a stronger shield.

Ice Characters

• Gepard (Preservation): 4 Piece of Knight of Purity Palace. Preservation characters are in charge of protecting their allies. Gepard’s shield as well as his defense is enhanced with this relic set bonus.
• Herta (Erudition): 4 Piece of Hunter of Glacial Forest. Herta’s Ice DMG will be increased and her CRIT DMG will be more after using her Ultimate.
• Jingliu (Destruction): 4 Piece of Hunter of Glacial Forest. Just like Herta, Jingliu benefits from the Ice DMG and CRIT dmg boost after using her Ultimate, effective in any situation.
• March 7th (Preservation): 4 Piece of Knight of Purity Palace. As a DEF scaling shield unit, this set provides March 7th with all the stats she needs to truly protect her units.
• Pela (Nihility): 4 Piece of Musketeer of Wild Wheat. This set enhances Pela's speed, allowing her to act before her allies, crucial for applying her debuffs effectively.
• Ruan Mei (Harmony): 4 Piece of Thief of Shooting Meteor. This set grants a significant boost to her Break Effect and additional energy whenever she applies Break to an enemy.
• Yanqing (The Hunt): 2 Piece of Hunter of Glacial Forest + 2 Piece of Musketeer of Wild Wheat. This relic set combination gives him both Ice DMG and ATK boost. 4 pieces of each relic set can also be opted for as there is room for flexibility.

Imaginary Characters

• Dan Heng – Imbibitor Lunae (Destruction): 4 Piece of Wastelander of Banditry Desert. As a Destruction character, he needs to pump out as much damage as he can, and this set helps him do just that, by increasing his Imaginary DMG, CRIT Damage, and CRIT rate.
• Dr. Ratio (The Hunt): 4 Piece of Wastelander of Banditry Desert. Same as Dan Heng – Imbibitor Lunae, he benefits from the increased DMG bonuses.
• Luocha (Abundance): 2 Piece of Passerby of Wandering Cloud + 2 Piece Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. A mix of these two sets increases his healing (which is his main role) as well as his SPD.
• Welt (Nihility): 4 Piece of Wastelander of Banditry Desert. The CRIT bonuses will enhance effect hit rate and energy regeneration substats, and the bonus shall remain active due to the low energy cost.
• Yukong (Harmony): 2 Piece of Wastelander of Banditry Desert + 2 Piece of Musketeer of Wild. A mix of these two sets enhance her damage and is versatile enough to work well in any team composition.

Lightning Characters

• Arlan (Destruction): 4 Piece of Band of Sizzling Thunder. His overall DPS output will be enhanced due to the increased ATK after using his skill due to the set bonus.
• Bailu (Abundance): 2 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace + 2 Piece of Passerby of Wandering Cloud. This combo increases Bailu’s healing abilities as well as her speed, allowing her to get her turns faster.
• Jing Yuan (Erudition): 4 Piece of The Ashblazing Grand Duke. Most of his damage comes from his follow-up attacks through Lightning-Lord, making this set a strong fit for his kit.
• Kafka (Nihility): 4 Piece of Prisoner in Deep Confinement. This set results in the most damage output for Kafka in comparison to any other set by increasing DoT DMG, scaling even higher when multiple DoTs are applied to an enemy.
• Serval (Erudition): 4 Piece of Band of Sizzling Thunder. This not only enhances her overall DMG but also increases her DoT damage as it scales off ATK.
• Tingyun (Harmony): 4 Piece of Musketeer of Wild Wheat. SPD is extremely important in Tingyun’s kit. Therefore, increased speed will allow her to get ahead and apply buffs to her allies.

Physical Characters

• Argenti (Erudition): 4 Piece of Champion of Streetwise Boxing. Argenti benefits from this set, as it offers a boost to his Physical DMG, granting him a stacking ATK buff that lasts throughout the entire battle, further enhancing his damage output.
• Clara (Destruction): 4 Piece of Champion of Streetwise Boxing. Same as Argenti, this set allows her to pump out most of the damage she is capable of.
• Hanya (Harmony): 4 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. The increased SPD of Hanya enhances the buff that her allies receive from her Ultimate, apart from the increased SPD for the entire party.
• Luka (Nihility): 4 Piece of Prisoner in Deep Confinement. His overall damage as well as DoT effects are enhanced.
• Natasha (Abundance): 2 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace + 2 Piece of Passerby of Wandering Cloud. Same as Bailu, she benefits from the increased healing and SPD.
• Sushang (The Hunt): 4 Piece of Champion of Streetwise Boxing. Like Clara and Argenti, she benefits from the set bonuses for Physical and overall DMG.
• Trailblazer (The Hunt): 4 Piece of Musketeer of Wild Wheat. The set is easy to trigger since there’s no condition, allowing for a great ATK boost.

Quantum Characters

• Fu Xuan (Preservation): 2 Piece of Longevous Disciple + 2 Piece of Guard of Wuthering Snow. This set combo allows Fu Xuan to take much damage, with increased HP.
• Lynx (Abundance): 4 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. Same as Hanya and Asta.
• Qingque (Erudition): 4 Piece of Genius of Brilliant Stars. Her overall damage is increased while ignoring DEF of enemies, even more so if they are weak to Quantum.
• Seele (The Hunt): 4 Piece of Genius of Brilliant Stars. Same as Qingque, Seele benefits from the ignored DEF of enemies.
• Silver Wolf (Nihility): 4 Piece of Genius of Brilliant Stars. Also optimal for Silver Wolf as it enhances her overall damage and ignoring the DEF complements the debuffs she can apply.
• Xueyi (Destruction): 4 Piece of Thief of Shooting Meteor. This set provides stats beneficial for Xueyi’s Break Effect, while also regenerating energy.

Wind Characters

• Blade (Destruction): 4 Piece of Longevous Disciple. Through this set, consumption of HP will lead to an increased CRIT rate, which aligns with Blade’s kit as his skill consumes HP.
• Bronya (Harmony): 4 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. For the same reasons mentioned for other characters above.
• Dan Heng (The Hunt): 4 Piece of Eagle of Twilight Line. This set increases Dan’s Wind DMG and his action is forwarded after using his Ultimate.
• Huohuo (Abundance): 4 Piece of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. For the same reasons mentioned for other characters above.
• Sampo (Nihility): 4 Piece of Prisoner in Deep Confinement. Just like Kafka and Luka, ATK is increased and enemy’s DEF is ignored for DoT inflicted by Sampo.
