The current regular season of the Chapter 2 Season 1 Fortnite Champion Series has concluded with an additional round of qualifiers.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 introduced a squad format to the competitive atmosphere. After four straight weeks of intense competitions, we have seen several dominant teams rise to the top. Teams led by the likes of Williams “NRG Zayt” Aubin, Shane “NRG EpikWhale” Cotton and Alexandre “MCES Andilex” Christophe have separated themselves from the pack. In terms of seeding, many expect these top teams to strive, but as Season X showed us, anything could happen in the finals of a Fortnite: Battle Royale tournament.
The Fortnite Champion Series Finals will resume with two heats for Asia, Oceania and the Middle East, followed by four heats in Europe, NA West, NA East and Brazil regions. In addition to the top-ten teams from each qualifying week, remaining squads will qualify based on their consistency points. Details regarding the consistency points will trickle in over the next week.
Refer to our previous articles to see the previously qualified teams from week one, week two and week three.
Let’s take a deep five into week four and find out who performed well in the final qualifier before the season finals.
NA East
TSM Commandment, NRG Zayt, SEN HighSky and Ghost Saf continued their unprecedented stretch in Fortnite Champion Series Chapter 2 Season 1 with yet another victory. Their week four win marks their third in just four weeks of qualifiers. This squad is unquestionably the front-runner as we head into the FNCS Semifinals in two weeks. Their week four performance included one Victory Royale and thirty-nine eliminations. Commandment, Zayt, HighSky and Saf finished eleven points ahead of second place and managed at least a top-ten result through their six matches. The multi-organizational team is setting themselves up nicely for an exciting finale at the Chapter 2 Season 1 Championship.
NA West
Rehx, Liquid Cented, NRG EpikWhale and NRG Edgey earned their first victory in the Fortnite Champion Series Qualifiers. After the results of third, second and fourth through the first three weeks of competition, this squad compiled eighty-three points to claim the top spot finally. This team’s consistency through four weeks is admirable as they played in finals every week and finished no lower than fourth place. Their week four effort yielded three Victory Royales and thirty-eight eliminations. There is a definite group of top contenders in the NA West region, and we can safely assume that EpikWhale’s squad is the team to beat at the FNCS Semifinals.
Europe
MCES Andilex, COOLER 4zr, COOLER Noward and Vitality DRG are quietly flying under the radar as one of the best European Fortnite squads. This week four victory marks their second victory since the competition began. This squad has produced results of first, fourth, second and first over the first four weeks of the Fortnite Champion Series. Although they only managed one Victory Royale in six matches, they took second place three times. Andilex and his team finished eleven points ahead of mitr0’s squad to further solidify them as a legitimate threat to win the Chapter 2 Season 1 Championship.
Brazil
Master GEMIDA, cloud9 dk, C9 blackoutz and C9 Nicks reclaimed the throne in the Brazilian region with their third Fortnite Champion Series victory. Similar to NA East, NA West and Europe, there is a small group of teams that continue to exhibit dominance in the FNCS. Their margin of victory is startling as blackoutz, and his teammates finished a whopping fifty-one points ahead of second place. Their path to a third victory included two Victory Royales and a god-like seventy-two eliminations. This squad is amongst the absolute best across all regions with their consistent gameplay and results.
Oceania
Jynx, mrfreshasian, Mr Turtle and Link took first in week four of the Oceania Fortnite Champion Series. This victory marks their first in Chapter 2 Season 1 and their second top-five finish. They exhibited pure dominance in the final week of the competition, with one-hundred and eleven points overall. Jynx, mrfreshasian, Mr Turtle and Link finished twenty-three points ahead of second place with two wins and sixty-three eliminations. This squad produced one of the better matches of the entire FNCS with a twenty-three elimination Victory Royale. The Oceania region appears to be a bit more spread out in terms of talent, meaning every qualified team is safely in play for the season finale.
Asia
T1 SinOoh, T1 Arius, Давай будем лучш and DWG Eraser finally earned their first Fortnite Champion Series Qualifier victory in the final week of competition. Their recent results of second and fourth in weeks one and three had already allowed them to qualify for the semifinals. This time around, SinOoh and his teammates managed ninety-four points with two victories and fifty-two eliminations. After taking second place at the Season X Championship, SinOoh’s squad is trending upward at the right time with the FNCS Semifinals in two weeks.
Middle East
After three straight weeks of top-five results, TU I4xPRO, Sudor Rex, TU ToRmen and Dexefite claimed victory in the Middle East region. This squad put their best effort forward in week four, compiling one-hundred and four points over six games. I4xPRO, Rex, ToRmen and Dexefite combined for fifty-six eliminations in that span of matches. Their two Victory Royales resulted in thirteen and fourteen eliminations, respectively. Much like the Asia and Oceania regions, the top-rated Middle East are similar, which will make for an exciting finish. We will have to see how these international regions play out in two weeks when the Fortnite Champion Series Semifinal begins.
