Dota 2: The Qualifiers for WePlay! Pushka League Begin Soon

WePlay!’s latest event is set to begin soon with qualifiers starting April 16.

Even though the pro Dota 2 scene got hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s now slowly recovering. There are more online tournaments than ever before, and the latest one comes from WePlay!

The European organization has made a name for itself after successfully hosting numerous Dota 2 tournaments. In fact, WePlay! Bukovel Minor even became the most viewed DPC Minor in Dota 2’s history.

After the coronavirus situation, WePlay! hosted a charity tournament where we got to see some of the best teams in the world. Now, nearly one month later, we are yet to see another event called WePlay! Pushka League. However, instead of gathering teams from all over the world, the participants here will be from Europe and CIS.

The qualifiers

Both Europe and CIS will have open and closed qualifiers. The CIS open qualifiers will begin on the April 16, whereas the EU ones on 17.

Once the open quals are over, we will get to see four teams playing in the closed qualifiers. Two of them are going to be directly invited, whereas the other two are coming from the open ones.

These teams will have to go head to head in a single-elimination bracket. Every single series here (apart from the Grand Final) will be played in a best-of-three format. Here are the teams that got direct invites so far;

  • CIS – VP.Prodigy and Cyber Legacy
  • Europe – and Chicken Fighters

The event

Despite being online, this tournament will have a $250K USD prize pool, which is pretty decent. As a result, we will get to see the best teams from Europe and CIS.

Once the qualifiers are over, the main event will begin on April 23. There will be fourteen teams in total, such as OG, Team Secret, Nigma, Alliance, Virtus.Pro, Natus Vincere, and more.

Expect your tournament review soon, where we will see which teams could be considered as the favorites. Until then, make sure to follow us on our social media accounts for more information.
