Let’s check out some of the teams participating in the upcoming 2022 DPC and learn which organizations are hosting the Tours.
Just a day after we’ve learned more information about the new DPC, it is time to check the teams. Team Spirit surprised everyone at TI 10, proving yet again that Dota 2 is one of the most unpredictable games. The CIS team’s success will inspire many people to try their luck and see whether they can be among the best.
Speaking of the best, we already know the names of most teams that will take part in the upcoming tours. As it we explained in our previous article, Valve decided to make some interesting changes. Instead of including two tours, we will have three. Each will include a Regional League and a Major. The latter will offer DPC points, which will increase over time as we approach TI11. Consequently, the tournaments that take prior to TI will definitely be the most interesting ones to watch. As for the Regional League, it will be divided into Division 1 and Division 2.
With that being said, let’s check out what we know about the teams and the organizations we'll have the chance to see when the new season begins, November 29.
North America
The company organizing the NA events is ESL One. This probably doesn’t come as a surprise to some of you because ESL is one of the biggest names in professional Dota 2. The brand is responsible for some of the best tournaments over the years.
According to the official information, ESL One will organize the Regional Leagues in NA. The Divison 1 teams list includes the following teams:
- Quincy Crew
- Evil Geniuses
- Team Undying
- Black N Yellow
- Arkosh Gaming
- D2 Hustlers
- 4Zoomers
- simply TOOBASED
As for those in Division 2, the names are as follows:
- The Cut
- felt
- 5ManMidas
- Electronic Boys
- Bumble bEEs.
The last two teams have to earn their sport via the open qualifiers. There will be two of them, and you can sign up if you think you have what it takes.
Eastern Europe (CIS)
The Eastern European Dota 2 scene is on fire following Team Spirit’s success at TI 10. This was the first big trophy in Dota 2 for the region after Na’Vi’s conquest at TI 1, which was almost ten years ago.
If you like this region in Dota 2, you'll have the chance to watch the Regional League, which is organized by EPICENTER's Epic Esports Events. Unlike NA, the CIS teams will have three open qualifiers that will allow them to get into the list with the Divison 2 teams. Having said that, here are the names of the teams that will compete in the Eastern Europe Division 1.
- PuckChamp
- Team Spirit
- HellRaisers
- Team Unique
- Virtus.Pro
- AS Monaco Gambit
- Natus Vincere
- Team Empire
The ones that have to battle in the second division include:
- Fantastic Five
- Nemiga Gaming
- Ex-XactJlebpl
- Prosti Esli
- Winstrike Team
Western Europe
At the time of writing this article, we don’t know much information about the teams and divisions. What we know is that DreamHack will be the organization behind the different Regional Leagues in this Dota 2 region. This is one of the oldest gaming companies globally, so they will do a good job hosting the leagues. Western EU Teams will have the chance to participate in two open qualifiers.
We don’t have any information about the other Dota 2 regions yet – China, SEA, and South America. However, we'll keep this article updated with all the latest info as it becomes available. In the meantime, be sure to follow us on Twitter for more esports and Dota 2 news.
