Dota 2 Patch 7.35b Update – Overview

Here is everything new in the Dota 2 Patch 7.35b. The smaller patch following the release of the big one addressed some of the issues.

There is no arguing that the Dota 2 Patch 7.35 disrupted the meta. Some heroes and items became a lot better than before, as we‘ve seen following the first trends after the patch arrived.

Even though the previous patch was released just a few days ago, Valve decided to act quickly and nerf certain heroes and items before it was too late. There are several interesting changes you need to know about in the Dota 2 Patch 7.35b, so let’s go over them.

Dota 2 Patch 7.35b – Items

If you take a look at the Dota 2 Patch 7.35b change log, you can see that there are several item changes. None of them is ground breaking because the new update only adds a few buffs and nerfs. With that said, some are more important than others.

Starting with the first big nerf, Bloodstone no longer restores mana. This was one of the go-to items for loads of different heroes, and for a good reason. Sadly, the fact that it no longer provides mana will have a very negative impact on its popularity.

Shiva’s Guard is another item in the 7.35b Dota 2 Patch release date that was affected more than others. Sadly, the changes here are also not for the better because the item now provides +16 instead of +20 armor. Besides the armor, Shiva’s Guard will also provide +6 to all stats instead of +8 and +6 HP regen instead of +8.

Another big item that received a lot of nefs is Solar Crest, but this probably does not come as a surprise. Solar Crest has been one of the best items in Dota 2 for a while, but patch 7.35b might be the end of it, considering everything is new. After the changes, the item now grants +4 instead of +6 armor, +4 to all stats, and in order to use it, the item will cost 100 gold. On top of that, it will no longer grant bonus MS or AS when used on yourself. Those nerfs are huge, and we expect this item to be removed from the meta.

Hero Updates After 7.35b Dota 2 Patch

After addressing some of the most important changes related to Dota 2’s items in 7.35b, it is time to look at the heroes. Here, some heroes got pretty good buffs that should put them back in the meta, whereas others received fairly big nerfs.

Starting with Beastmaster, he is among the Dota 2 heroes with 2 buffs. The first one is related to the Wild BNoad, which now has a 30s cooldown on all levels. This is huge, especially early on because it will allow Beastmaster to be a lot more successful. Besides that, Beastmaster also receives a buff to Primal Roar. The ultimate now has 90/75/60s CD instead of 100/80/60. Similar to the previous change, this should make the ult more usable early on.

Regarding the nerfs, the Dota 2 Patch 7.35b adds a lot of them. The first one that deserves more attention is related to Death Prophet. The latter got tons of buffs and quickly became the 2nd most successful hero after Leshrac, so the nerfs are probably not a surprise.

If we analyze the Dota 2 Patch 7.35b change log, we can see the hero’s silence is down from 3/4/5/6s to 3.5/4/4.5/5. In other words, the ability is more effective on level 1 but less effective in the later stages of the game.

Spirit Siphon also got nerfed because the base charge restores time is now 40s instead of 38s. On top of that, Aghanim’s Shard fear duration is down from 1.2 to 1.

Leshrac

Speaking of nerfs after the 7.35b Dota 2 patch Reddit, we need to mention Leshrac. He was the most dominant hero after the arrival of the new patch, so people expected to see at least a few nerfs. To be precise, he got 3 in total.

Starting with Split Earth, Leshrac’s stun now has 11s CD instead of 9s, and the radius with an Aghs Shard is down to 45 from 55. As for Lightning Storm, the attack slow is now 20/30/40/50 instead of 50 on all levels. This should make it a bit easier to lane against the Disco Pony, but he remains one of the best in the game.

Outworld Destroyer

The last big name that dominated the meta until a few days ago is Outworld Destroyer, and he also got a few big changes. As mentioned in our article about the best heroes to get Parasma and Khanda for, OD was in a league of his own and dominated pretty much everything. Sadly, this will be a lot more difficult because the hero got the following changes:

  • Arcane Orb’s mana pool to damage is down to 13/14/15/16% to 12/13/14/15%
  • Astral Imprisonment now deals 90/180/270/360 instead of 120/200/280/360 damage.
  • Essence Flux with an Aghanim’s Scepter now has an 80s CD instead of a 60s.
  • Finally, Sanity’s Eclipse mana allergy no longer deals damage

Phantom Assassin got a lot of buffs

Dota 2 Patch 7.35b Update - Overview

Besides the nefs, there are a couple of Dota 2 heroes that also got buffs in 7.35b. Phantom Assassin is among them because the hero got 4 big changes:

  • Stifling Dagger now deals 30/45/60/75% damage instead of 25/40/55/70%
  • Phantom Strike’s Bonus Attack SPeed is now 100/130/160/190 instead of 80/110/140/170.
  • Blur now lasts 30s instead of 25s.
  • Fan of Knives’s max Health Damage is up from 25% to 28%.
