Team Qualification
From April 22 to April 28, 12 of the world's best Dota 2 teams will compete for $1,000,000 in prize money and their share of 22,520 EPT Points.
While T1 placements were the primary determining factor in teams' seedings for ESL One Kuala Lumpur, from DreamLeague Season 22 onward, ESL will shift seeding prioritization based on EPT Points.
Four ESL One Birmingham invites will go to the teams with the most EPT Points on the leaderboards. ESL has added Open and Closed Qualifiers to all events, and slots 5-11 will go to the Closed Qualifier winners in NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, CN, and SEA. The final 12th seed will go to a last regional qualifier winner, though ESL is still determining the region.
Tournament Format
April 22 – 24, the 12 qualifying teams will compete in the Group Stage. There will be two round-robin groups of six teams each. All matches will have a two-game series format.
The teams that place 1st and 2nd of each group advance to the Playoffs Upper Brackets. The 3rd and 4th place teams advance to the Playoffs Lower Bracket. The unlucky teams that finish 5th and 6th face immediate elimination.
The final eight teams will compete in the Playoffs in an 8-team double elimination bracket. Matches will be best-of-3 until the Grand Finals, which will be a best-of-5.
Prize Pool
Along with $1,000,000 in total prize money, teams will earn a share of 22,520 EPT points.
