Geekfam have confirmed newcomer Whitemon will be replacing DuBu in their new line up.
Geekfam announced DuBu's departure from the team yesterday, without giving any indication as to who might be stepping in to fill his shoes.
Today they revealed their new support player. 19-year-old, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon from Indonesia. Whitemon is something of a newcomer, only playing actively in DPC events since June of 2018.
We welcome our new support player to the fam! Whitemon! Please give our new geek a warm welcome, fam🥳!
Hailing from Indonesia🇲🇨, Whitemon is here to connect with fellow countryman, Xepher to support our 🇵🇭 cores! #geekwhitemon #geekfam #letsgogeeks pic.twitter.com/5OgdVmy7C7

Whitemon has previously played for Indonesia team Evos Esports, competing with the team's at 2018's ESL One Hamburg.
Evos didn't see a lot of success through the 2018–2019 DPC season. Though they did nab second place at the ESL Indonesia Championship Season 2, and managed to secure a 3rd–4th finish at the WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Dire Asia.
It will be interesting to see if Whitemon is the missing ingredient that Geek Fam need to push them to the next level. The team has performed well at multiple regional qualifier events, and were one of the favorites heading in to the Bukovel Minor. Unfortunately, Geek Fam only managed to make it to 3rd place, falling to Team Nigma in the lower bracket finals.
With Whitemon on board, here's a look at Geek Fam's new roster:
- Marc “Raven” Fausto
- Karl Jayme
- Carlo “Kuku” Palad
- Kenny “Xepher” Deo
- Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon
