Diablo 4 Season 2 Officially Announced

Hardly anyone expected Blizzard's presence at Gamescom 2023's Opening Night Live, yet the development team wanted to amaze everyone by officially announcing Diablo 4 Season 2, Season of Blood.

Diablo 4 Season 2 release date

In addition to presenting a long video in which we can take a first look at the contents that will be present in this Season of Blood, Blizzard has also announced the release date of the new season which is set for October 17, 2023. There are therefore just under two months before players can experience what the developers have in mind for them in this new season. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer shown during the course of the event.

Diablo 4 Season of Blood

Presenting this announcement were Blizzard's Rod Fergusson and actress Gemma Chan, who played the lead in Season of Blood. As already mentioned, Season 2 will arrive in the fall, although Season 1 only launched last month. This shows how the developers have a very tight roadmap regarding the new content to be added to Diablo 4.

But let's go a little more into detail than we have seen. As you can guess from the name, this Diablo 4 Season of Blood will feature vampires. In the trailer, in fact, we can see how the citizens of a village are transformed into creatures of the night due to a mysterious epidemic, making the tones of Diablo 4 even darker than usual.

Players will take on the role of Eris (voiced by Gemma Chan), an expert vampire hunter who stars in this new story. Our task, therefore, will be to extirpate this epidemic from the village, making use of every available element. Fergusson himself also specified that our character will also have vampiric powers at his disposal, stating, in fact, that he is a sort of daytime vampire who fights against other vampires.

Finally, with the launch of this Season 2, many new contents will arrive. Among them will be five new endgame bosses, new main quests related to the story of Eris and vampires, as well as new powers and status effects, created especially for this new setting in the world of Diablo 4.
