CS:GO’s peak player count reached over 800k for the first time in 2 years

CS:GO just keeps breaking player records as it's peak player count reaches it's highest number in two years.

With the constant growth of average players in CS:GO over the recent months, it seemed like sooner or later the peak count of simultaneous players would also increase.
Yesterday the game set the fourth peak count in its history with 804,000 players online.
Recently we reported CS:GO had broken its all-time average player count record.  Since then the number of average players just keeps growing. Every day of January so far, has set a new record for the past 30 days.

According to SteamCharts, CS:GO has 30k more players on average than the game did during December of 2019.

The last time when CS:GO’s peak player count crossed the 800k threshold was  back in January of 2017. When the ELEAGUE Atlanta Major was hosted.

Overall the peak player count is still unbeaten from April of 2016 (850,485). But if this trend continues, we can expect to see things change during 2020.
