Long-time Ninjas in Pyjamas player Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg has completed a transfer to Dignitas, according to a report from 1pv. A report released by DBLTAP in November of last year revealed Dignitas’s plans of signing a new lineup comprised of a former Ninjas in Pyjamas quartet. F0rest has now reportedly left NiP, and 22-year-old GamerLegion star Tim “nawwk” Jonasson will be taking his place on the roster.
The Dignitas organization has been active in Counter-Strike since 2014. Originally signing fully Danish rosters, they have since fielded multinational European and North American teams. The organization released their previous roster in 2018, and have not sponsored a male CS:GO team since. DBLTAP’s 2019 report revealed the organization looked to sign a majority-Swedish squad headlined by former Ninjas in Pyjamas players. The rumored lineup includes Richard “Xizt” Landström, Adam “Friberg” Friberg, Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, and 19-year-old Norwegian talent Håkon “Hallzerk” Fjærli. The team is to be rounded out by Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, whose transfer has reportedly been finalized. F0rest has represented the Ninjas in Pyjamas organization since 2012, and is the last remaining player from the original lineup.
Taking f0rest’s place on NiP is GamerLegion star Tim “nawwk” Jonasson. The 22-year-old is widely considered to be one of the best and most desirable rising talents from Sweden, as he is versatile with both rifles and the AWP. Since nawwk’s signing, GamerLegion’s best results include a first-place finish at LOOT.BET Season 2, a second placing at Moche XL Esports 2019, and a 3-4th place exit from the WePlay! Forge of Masters Season 2 Finals.
As nawwk takes up the Ninjas in Pyjamas name, former NiP AWPer William “draken” Sundin is expected to fill the vacancy on GamerLegion. Draken has bounced around a number of teams since his 2018 departure from NiP, representing Fnatic, Red Reserve, Team Ancient, and briefly returning to NiP as a stand-in. He last played under the Ancient banner, though has been teamless since August of last year.
None of the involved organizations have confirmed any of these moves. GamerLegion is not currently scheduled to attend any upcoming events, though Ninjas in Pyjamas will be competing in the BLAST Premier Spring Series, beginning on January 31st.
