After revealing the fact that Tuscan is now a part of CSGO, it is time for more hot news about the maps in the epic game. Most people probably think of Dust 2 when it comes down to professional CSGO, but this is not the most played map. Mirage takes the crown here because this map has been around for many years, and most teams like it… or at least it seemed like that.

The problem

In a tweet from a few days ago, Abay “HObbit” Khassenov said that this is the best time to remove Mirage and add Cobble. What’s more, he even called this legendary map “boring”, something that was not left unnoticed by other players.

The fact that HObbit claims this map is boring is strange, considering that Mirage is the most popular CSGO map in 2022. However, it seems like some players have got enough and want to try something new. There is nothing wrong with that, but calling one of the most legendary maps boring is too much, at least for players like Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.

In his tweet, he said that players who think Mirage should be removed do not understand anything about the CSGO. According to s1mple, this is one of the best maps when it comes down to outplaying your enemies. He also said that “it isn’t that easy to win 2v5 like inferno B site”, something that pro players usually agree on.

Mirage is a balanced map

One of the big reasons why Mirage continues to be a popular map in CSGO after all those years is because of its balance. Studies from numerous sources, including HLTV, say that both sides have around 50% of winning. This news is not that good for people who want to bet on CSGO because they will have to think carefully about whom they want to punt on.

Aside from the balance, we also have to mention the lack of excessive graphics and things that can have an impact on a given player’s performance. The map is simple and easy to play on, which makes it ideal for many professional and casual players.

The future

No one knows whether Valve will listen to HObbit and remove the map, or it will decide to keep it. One thing is for sure – the company has to make some changes in order to keep players entertained.

CSGO is one of the biggest eSports in the world, but the game lost some of its fans in the last couple of years. Needless to say, the addition of new maps and other things will definitely make it more intriguing. Who knows, the company might even decide to release the next version of the franchise. After all, CSGO is a couple of years old already, and since Blizzard announced Overwatch 2, Valve might decide to do something similar.
