Considering Valorant is among the most popular FPS games of all time, it is no surprise a lot of people are playing on a daily basis. Besides having many casual fans, Valorant also has  a well-developed Esports scene, where people can food the best Valorant players in the world.

2023 was an amazing year for the game, but since we are just 2 days away from 2024, it is time for our final recap, where we will take a look at the best Valorant teams of 2023. We’ve created our list based on our own experience with the teams and their results throughout the year. So, let’s dive in. Just remember that the names here are in no particular order.

LOUD

When discussing the best Valorant teams of 2023, the first name that comes to mind is LOUD. Despite the fact that the squad lost two key players prior to the 2023 season, it found a way to bounce back and played really well throughout the year.

After the departure of Sazy and pANcada, cauanzin and tuyz became a part of the squad, which was a strange decision at first because it did not live up to the expectations. However, people seemed to forget that this was the reigning champion of the VALORANT Championship 2022. After a series of impressive results, LOUD ended up winning the VCT 2023: Americans after dropping just one game.

Fnatic

Best Valorant Teams of 2023

When ranking the best Valorant teams of 2023, most people will point at Fnatic and say that they were on another level. After analyzing their results this year, we have to agree because the squad was really good.

Despite the changes in its roster, the European powerhouse had no issues to dominate over its opponents. In fact, the team managed to secure an impressive winning streak after winning several events in a row.

Once it was time for the VCGT 2023: EMEA league, Fnatic was almost flawless and did not lose a single map, at least until the Final. Sadly, the team was unable to overcome Team Liquid in the EMEA final, which resulted in losing first place. Still, we believe Fnatic is definitely among the best Valorant teams of 2023, and it will continue to be a key player in the 2024 season.

Paper Rex

During our in-depth analysis, we noticed another team that needs to be among the best Valorant teams of 2023, and its name is Papre Rex. People who’ve been following the professional scene in 2022 remember that the year was good for the squad. Despite having a young and inexperienced squad, the team achieved good results and set the bar high for the upcoming year.

Speaking of the devil, 2023 was fairly good for the team but not the best. Paper Rex started with two losses at the start of the season, making some people question whether this would be the year this team would dominate. Although it did not really “dominate”, Paper Rex qualified for the championship at the end of the season.

NRG Esports

Another name that should be on the list is NRG Esports. This was one of the new teams this season, and a lot of people did not realize it until recently. Nevertheless, we believe that NRG Esports was among the top Valorant teams of 2023, and it deserves a spot on the list.

Speaking of this team, NRG Esports had the chance to get Marved, and yay, both of whom left OpTic Gaming. Despite the somewhat shaky results at first, NRG Esports was able to capitalize on its players’ experience and got second place at VCT 2023: Americans. That said, the team couldn’t achieve other impressive results, so we can’t wait to see what will happen in 2024.

DRX

If you’ve followed the VCT 2023: Pacific, one of the names you’ve definitely noticed is DRX. The squad from South Korea is known as one of the top teams in the region, which is no surprise because it has been dominating for some time now. This is just one of the reasons why we believe it is among the best Valorant teams of 2023.

One thing worth mentioning is that this squad could not sustain its performance in the playoffs. In fact, it lost twice against Paper Rex, which resulted in second place. This disappointed some of DRX’s fans, but there is no arguing this is one of the most successful Valorant teams in 2023, and we believe it will be even better in 2024.

Evil Geniuses

Best Valorant Teams of 2023

Following second place at Masterz Tokyo and a series of other impressive results, we can all agree that Evil Geniuses was one of the best Valorant teams of 2023. Some people were surprised by the club’s impressive results, but a deep dive into the roster reveals that EG has some of the best individual players in the world.

Ethan, for example, is one of the world’s leading initiators, whereas Demon1 is the top aimer. It will be interesting to see what’s going to change in 2024.

Team Liquid

The last name that we want to include when talking about the best Valorant teams of 2023 is Team Liquid. Similar to some of the other big names, this one made a lot of roster changes prior to the new season, so people did not know what to expect. Players like ScreamM left the squad in favor of the likes of Redgar and nAts, which was strange at first, but after the results, we realized the changes were for the better.

Sadly, the numerous changes had an effect on Team Liquid’s performance because the team was unable to show its prowess in the beginning of the season. Fortunately, Liquid won the VCT 2023: EMEA, which means that it is on the right path.
