The New Frontiers map has made quite a few changes to the terrain of Dota 2. Many players are yet to get accustomed to the new objectives that have become a part of the online game. Tormentors are a newly introduced neutral creep that is much harder to beat than other neutrals found on the map. You can fight and defeat a Tormentor to unlock the Aghanim’s Shard upgrade for your allies. There is a Tormentor in each of the 2 off lanes in Dota 2.

Lone Druid
Lone Druid can be a reliable tank hero in Dota 2 matches in the 7.33c patch. He has a base health of 516 and gains 2 attributes to Agility, Strength, and Intelligence. Physical attacks from Lone Druid have a maximum range of 550, letting Lone Druid hit Tormentors from a distance while his Spirit Bear hits the neutral creep with melee attacks.
You can level up Lone Druid in the safe lane till he can farm his core items before fighting a Tormentor in the off lane. He can summon a Spirit Bear to fight with him to deal bonus damage to enemy creeps and heroes in Dota 2. Spirit Bear has a maximum health of 2000, health regeneration rate of 8, a base attack time of 1.4, armor of 6, and movement speed of 400.
Spirit Bear has a cooldown of 120 seconds. You can keep Summon Spirit Bear ready before attacking a Tormentor to be able to raise a Spirit Bear fast during the fight. Tormentors deal a ton of damage to summoned units and heroes, making it difficult to beat the neutral creep before unlocking all the abilities of Lone Druid.
You can buy early game items like a Phase Boots to increase the attack damage of Spirit Bear by 18. Spirit Bear can also deal more damage to enemy creeps with a Quelling Blade in the inventory. You can buy items like a Sange and Yasha for Lone Druid to boost his attack speed, Status Resistance, and amplify his Lifesteal. Sange and Yasha can be bought for 4100 gold.
Lone Druid can level up Spirit Link to gain 65% Lifesteal that is shared with the Spirit Bear. The passive ability, Spirit Link, provides 64 attack speed and 20% armor to Spirit Bear and Lone Druid. You can get several kills early in the game by maxing out Spirit Link and Spirit Bear for the Universal hero.
The Entangling Claws ability of Spirit Bear can be used to root enemy heroes for a couple of seconds in battles. Rooted enemies affected by Entangling Claws will be unable to move for up to 2.8 seconds and take up to 60 damage per second (DPS). The passive ability, Entangling Claws, has a cooldown of 5 seconds. You can remove the cooldown of Entangling Claws at level 20 through the Talent Tree.
You can purchase a Daedalus to gain 88 attack damage for Lone Druid. The Universal hero gains a 30% chance to deal 225% bonus attack damage with each hit by purchasing a Daedalus. You’ll have a much smoother time defeating a Tormentor with a Daedalus equipped in Dota 2 matches. Daedalus can be bought for 5150 gold in the game. You can buy a Desolator for Spirit Bear to increase its attack damage by 50. Melee attacks from Spirit Bear can decrease the armor of enemy units by 6 for 7 seconds. Desolator costs 3500 gold in the game. Spirit Bear can strike Tormentors with bonus damage with a Desolator in battles.
You can use Savage Roar to send any enemy heroes running back to their bases for up to 2 seconds. Savage Roar affects all enemies in a radius of 375. Lone Druid can use Savage Roar after spotting enemy heroes near the Tormentor in the off lane. You can destroy a Tormentor with Lone Druid to unlock the Aghanim’s Shard upgrade for his ability, Savage Roar. The Aghanim’s Shard upgrade provides bonus movement speed and bonus attack speed to Lone Druid for 5 seconds.
He can use his ulti, True Form, to transform into a bear that hits enemies with melee attacks. Lone Druid gains a bonus health of 1500, bonus armor of 12, and a base attack time of 1.7. True Form lasts for 40 seconds and can help people defeat the Tormentor with ease. His ulti has a cooldown of 100 seconds and requires 200 mana to be used per cast.
Lone Druid can purchase a Radiance for Spirit Bear to gain 55 attack damage and 15% evasion. Spirit Bear can deal 60 Burn DPS to enemy heroes around it with a Radiance in its inventory. Enemy attacks have a 15% miss rate, giving Spirit Bear plenty of time to eliminate neutral creeps and Tormentors in the New Frontiers map. Radiance costs 4700 gold in the game. You can also buy an Assault Cuirass for Spirit Bear to increase its attack speed by 30 and its armor by 10. Lone Druid also gains 5 bonus armor and 30 attack speed from the Assault aura provided by Assault Cuirass, allowing the Universal hero to take down Tormentors effortlessly in the 7.33c patch.
Sven
Sven is an amazing Strength hero in Dota 2. He can storm into battles to stun enemy heroes before wiping them out with his blade. Sven has a base health of over 600 and gains a massive 3.2 Strength per level. He has a base attack damage of 63 – 65, giving him plenty of damage to take last hits in lanes. His ulti, God’s Strength, grants him bonus attack damage to annihilate Tormentors in a match.
The melee hero can level up his passive ability, Great Cleave, to deal 100% of his attack damage to enemy units around him. Great Cleave grants up to 8 Strength bonus at level 4. You can farm bonus gold from neutral creep camps with Sven to buy items faster in Dota 2 matches. Sven can purchase an Armlet of Mordiggian to gain bonus Strength. Armlet of Mordiggian provides 25 attack speed, 15 attack damage, 6 armor, and 5 health regeneration rate to Sven. The item costs 2500 gold in the game. You can turn on Unholy Strength using Armlet of Mordiggian to gain 35 attack damage, 4 bonus armor, and 25 bonus Strength during battles with Sven. The increased attack damage and health gained by using Armlet of Mordiggian can help Sven survive battles against the Tormentor.
You can get a few kills to level up Sven in his matches before encountering a Tormentor in the off lane. Sven can pick up Wisdom runes placed near Tormentors to gain bonus experience between battles. He can launch a Storm Hammer at enemy heroes to deal 320 damage. Enemy units hit by a Storm Hammer will be stunned for 1.6 seconds. Storm Hammer has a cooldown of 12 seconds and needs 125 mana to be used per cast. You can max out Warcry to gain bonus movement speed and bonus armor for 10 seconds. Warcry grants up to 15 bonus armor for the duration of the spell.
Sven can activate God’s Strength while fighting Tormentors to deal up to 200% bonus damage. God’s Strength has a cooldown of 95 seconds and requires 200 mana to be used per cast. You can reduce the cooldown of God’s Strength by 15 seconds at level 15. You can purchase items like a Moon Shard and Satanic to ensure that Sven regains a portion of his health with each attack. Moon Shard grants up to 140 attack speed to Sven. Satanic can be bought for 5050 gold and provides plenty of Lifesteal per hit. Sven can activate Unholy Rage to gain 175% Lifesteal for 6 seconds, letting the Strength hero decimate Tormentors in seconds.
