Apex Legends: Luminosity Gaming Signs the Team Formerly Known as 789

Canadian esports organization Luminosity Gaming has acquired Team 789.

Remember the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational tournament run by EA Games in Poland? Odds are you probably haven’t unless you’ve been following the Apex Legends esports scene closely. Regardless, the event has had one hugely positive impact for three players in particular. These players are:

-Anton “Xaniya” Shkuratov

-Elvira “Esdesu” Terimova

-Maxim “Exens” Dmitruk

If you paid close attention at the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational, you’ll remember these three players. They all were part of the unsigned, underdog team known as Team 789. That team made it all the way to the Grand Finals, becoming a phenomenon and ultimately placing 6th overall. Well, they are Team 789 no more, because they’ve been officially signed on together by Luminosity Gaming!

LG made the announcement recently after giving “special thanks” to their former Apex Legends roster, which consisted of “Chipzy,” “JP2” and “Crank.” Luminosity Gaming placed 40th at the Preseason Invitational.
