There is no doubt that Valorant is one of the fastest-growing esports in the history of video games. The growing support from the community is amplified by Riot's efforts to take Valorant to the next level. Stage 1 of the Valorant Champions Tour begins on January 27 and runs until March 21. There are three Challengers events, each with an Open Qualifier and Closed Qualifier weekend.

This open format enables any team to have a shot at making it to the Masters Stage on March 13. As we have seen at previous Nerd St. Gamers competitions, on any given day, any team can pull off a win. Due to COVID-19 still affecting major portions of the world, all events will be held online and remotely, depending on how circumstances evolve throughout the year. The Challengers Closed Qualifiers is where teams will qualify for the Masters Stage in March. Making it to the Masters stage is the only way that teams in North America will compete globally later on this year.
