Two teams desperate to return to winning ways will take on each other in the Vitality vs MIBR IEM Rio Group B Lower Bracket Round 1 fixture
Vitality and MIBR were both on three-match winning streaks going into their first IEM Rio 2023 tie. The French side lost to OG in overtime, while MIBR failed to put up much resistance against Cloud9. Now, both sides will try to regain their winning form at each other's expense. Vitality are the CSGO betting favorites since they are higher in ranking, but a MIBR side boosted by local support can make lives difficult for them.

Vitality played OG, a team which were no strangers to them, in the IEM Upper Bracket Quarter Finals. Dan “apEX” Madesclaire's side had convincingly beaten the Danes in their previous meeting when Vitality registered a 2-0 clean sweep over OG in the ESL Pro League Season 17 Upper Bracket Semi Finals. OG and Vitality played out a more intense match this time around, and a concentrated team effort saw OG edging out Vitality in a 19-17 thriller. apEX finished the game as the top fragger, but he couldn't shift the outcome of the match in his team's favor.

MIBR could not make the home advantage count as an Abay ‘HObbit' Khassenov-fueled Cloud9 came out on top with the final score reading 16-8. The Brazilians will now look to find their first victory against Vitality, who had beaten them on two maps when they met at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022.
