Despite both the teams already qualifying for the upcoming Challengers Playoffs, the Final was an anticipated event as both teams were trying to cement themselves as dominant forces in NA after a string of poor performances in early 2021. TSM in particular had the daunting task of securing the event, after literally dominating the Valorant NA scene last year. And they surely did not disappoint their fans.
TSM vs FaZe Finals Recap
The first match on Ascent saw TSM taking an early lead on the Defender's side with a score of 8-4 before switching to sides. FaZe Clan, however, had other plans. They slowly choked TSM on their defending half to secure a win out of nowhere, finishing 13-11.
The second match saw Split coming into action. TSM was ruthless from the start, securing nine points in the attacking half on a highly defensive-favored map. The Breach pick from FaZe proved ineffective, as TSM was able to counter the character on both sides. As such, TSM won the match comfortably with a scoreline of 13-6.
The third game on Breeze also played similarly to the second one, as TSM racked in 10 points in the first half. Unfortunately, FaZe's players were not able to plant regularly, despite a good performance by Corey “corey” Nigra on the unpopular duelist like Yoru. The match ended with TSM securing the win with a point tally of 13-6.
The final match on Haven was a mere formality. The morale of the FaZe players was visibly down after the previous two matches. They simply didn't have any answers for the aggressive gameplay displayed by TSM during their defensive half. They struggled to get any initial kills and were heavily troubled by the Operator Superstar Matthew “Wardell” Yu, who finished the match with 20 kills. FaZe only managed to secure two points in the entire match, which ended 13-2 in favor of the dominant TSM.
