BetBoom Team manager Luka “Lukawa” Nasuashvili compares his team’s DreamLeague Season 20 Grand Final run with a jaw-dropping anime plot twist
Luka “Lukawa” Nasuashvili, manager of BetBoom Team, was brimming with joy after his team’s splendid victory against PSG.LGD in the DreamLeague Season 20 Upper Bracket Final, which granted them a Grand Final pass and a guaranteed Riyadh Masters 2023 spot. He drew a parallel between his team’s fairytale campaign and the breathtaking plot twists that we often get to see in the most memorable anime narratives. He wrote on his private Telegram channel:
“Top 10 unexpected anime twists! The team that enters the tournament as a last-minute replacement goes all the way to the final and grabs a Riyadh Masters spot.”

Yegor “Nightfall” Grigorenko and Vitaliy “Save-” Melnyk’s team became the first Grand Finalists of the tournament after seeing off PSG.LGD in the Upper Bracket Final. The Chinese team, who had only lost to BetBoom Team in their last 7 series, surrendered to the Russian side once again as they lost both of the first two maps. The first map concluded swiftly within 25 minutes, while the second stretched to 32 minutes before reaching its conclusion.
PSG.LGD can set up a rematch with BetBoom, however, if they can get the better of Gaimin Gladiators in the Lower Bracket Final.

The victory also ensured BetBoom Team’s Riyadh Masters participation as both DreamLeague Season 20 Grand Finalists will receive direct invites to the showpiece event. This achievement places the Russians alongside Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports, PSG.LGD, Evil Geniuses, Shopify Rebellion, Team Spirit, and Talon Esports, all of whom have been confirmed as participants in the highly anticipated Riyadh Masters 2023.
