The OGA Dota Pit Minor 2019 will be the third Minor of 2019. Eight of the best teams in the world will fight for that $300,000 prize pool as well as DPC points which are needed to qualify for TI 9. The main event will take place at the Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia from April 22-28. It is essential to add that the winner of this Minor will also be the last team to go to MDL Disneyland Paris Major.
The Qualifiers
As with every other tournament held in this DPC season, the eight teams will have to qualify for the event. The qualifiers themselves are divided into two – Open and Closed. As per usual, the stronger teams got invited directly to the Closed qualifiers.
North America
The NA region will have only one representative at this event. The two teams that stand out the most here are Forward Gaming and J.storm. Both of them were unable to get the ticket to Paris, and now they have to do it the hard way. This is especially true for FG, who lost in the final game at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major Qualifiers against Team Team.
South America
Similar to NA, there will be only one SA team in Croatia. At first glance, the strongest team here is Infamous. However, as we saw in the qualifiers for the Major, it is possible for some of the underdogs to grab that slot. Other notable teams here are Gorillaz-pride and Thunder Predator.
Europe
Two teams are going to Croatia from this region. Ppd’s Ninjas in Pyjamas seems to have the highest chance to grab one of the slots, but The Final Tribe and Alliance will definitely not go down without a fight. There is also a recently formed stack called Kingdra, and they have some very well-known names on their roster. It will be interesting to see if they manage to stack up and play well enough as a team.
CIS
Gambit Esports, Natus Vincere and Old But Gold are the three teams to look out for here. Pretty much all of them have the capabilities of getting that single slot for Croatia. If both Na’Vi and Gambit manage to win the first round, they will have to play against each other in the semifinals. As we know, Sonneiko and Co. already beat Gambit in the Lower Bracket of the Disney Qualifier just a few days ago.
China
The Chinese region has been on the rise in the last couple of months. That’s why it gets two slots for this Minor. At first glance, Newbee and EHOME seem to be the obvious favorites here. However, if Newbee hasn’t changed anything in their game, teams such as Royal or Royal Never Give Up will be more than happy to take their spot.
Southeast Asia
TNC Predator, Boom ID, WarriorsGaming.Unity and Tigers are the teams that stand out compared to others. Of course, TNC Predator seems to be the strongest out of them. They nearly made it to the Disneyland Major but fell short against Fnatic and Mineski in the qualifiers. SEA only gets one slot for this Minor.
Dates for the Qualifiers
NA – April 2nd – 3rd
SA – April 4th-5th
Europe – April 5th-6th
CIS – April 3rd-4th
China – April 3rd-6th
SEA – April 5th-6th
