Shopify Rebellion’s regular solo-mid Abed “Abed” Yusop couldn’t participate in DreamLeague Season 20 because of visa complications. His teammate Tal “Fly” Aizik provides an update about his current situation
With Dreamleague Season 20 setting a fiercely competitive stage, Shopify Rebellion entered the fray with Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi filling in for Abed “Abed” Yusop. Their journey through the group stages, however, proved challenging, leading to a 1-1 draw against OG in the final match and subsequent elimination for both teams. The absence of Abed, caused by visa issues, posed an additional hurdle for Shopify Rebellion. In a post-match interview, Tal “Fly” Azik provided updates on Abed's situation and shared valuable insights regarding the team's preparations for the Bali Major 2023, including their upcoming boot camp.
In response to inquiries regarding the team's strategies and Abed's visa predicament, Fly shared significant developments, bringing a glimmer of hope to loyal Shopify Rebellion supporters.
“That's a great question because Saber's supposed to fly to boot camp today, I'm supposed to fly tomorrow. But we just got word today that Abed actually got his visa. So, the rest of us will be traveling to meet up. Unfortunately, we won't be in this tournament anymore, but at least now mid can join, and we can practice for the Major.”
Fly also provided exclusive insights into Shopify Rebellion's preparations for the Bali Major 2023, shedding light on the team's current boot camp location. He further revealed that prominent members including Artour “Arteezy” Babev, Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen, and Kanishka “BuLba” Sosale are already actively participating in the boot camp, honing their skills for the upcoming tournament.
“It will be at the Liquid facilities. Some of the guys are already there like Cr1t, Arteezy, and Bulba, they’re already there.”
As the Dreamleague Season 20 adventure concludes for Shopify Rebellion, the team's attention turns towards the Bali Major 2023. With Abed's visa situation successfully resolved, the team can regather and recommence their rigorous practice sessions at the boot camp.
