Riyadh Masters 2023 is shaping up as the second-largest Dota 2 event of the year after the International 

The first Riyadh Masters in 2022 left a lasting impression on Dota 2 aficionados, as it emerged as the most significant non-DPC tournament, featuring an impressive prize pool of $4 million. The upcoming Riyadh Masters 2023 takes the excitement to a whole new level, however, as it promises an even more awe-inspiring reward of $15 million. Undoubtedly, this event will secure its place as the second-largest Dota 2 competition of the year, second only to The International.

The 20-team Dota 2 extravaganza is set to kick off in the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia on July 17. The Riyadh Masters 2023 is the final LAN event that will take place before the International begins in Seattle a few months from now, so the level of competition should be intense. 

Riyadh Masters 2023: How To Watch? 

Since the Riyadh Masters 2023 will take place as a part of the ongoing Gamers8 Festival in Riyadh, the event will be broadcast live on Gamers8’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

A total of twenty teams will battle it out for the coveted crown at the Riyadh Masters 2023. Eight of these sides will begin their journey from the Group Stages, while the Play-In stage will be the starting line for the remaining twelve outfits.

Riyadh Masters 2023: Format 

The tournament will have a Play-In stage for finalizing the last eight Group Stage participants. 12 teams will feature in the Play-In stage, divided into two six-team groups. They will face off in a round-robin format, playing two games in each series. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Group Stage, while the teams that finish in 3rd to 6th place in their groups will have another chance. They will compete against each other in elimination matches, and the winners of those matches will join the Group Stage, while the losing sides drop out. 

The Group Stages will also have two groups, but the number of teams in each group will increase to eight. All teams in a group will play each other once in a round-robin format. The top four teams from each group will move on to the Playoffs Upper Bracket; the teams that finish in 5th and 6th place in each group will advance to the Playoffs Lower Bracket.

Once the Playoff stage commences, ten teams will remain in contention, battling it out in a double elimination bracket. Throughout this stage, all series will be fiercely contested in best-of-three matches, except for the climactic Grand Final, which will showcase an intense best-of-five showdown.
