The game world of Palworld is full of things to discover and things to visit; it's not just about fighting and capturing Pals. In fact, among the various activities you can do, there is also that of being able to collect eggs around the game map, or thanks to the incubation process. However, these eggs are very different from each other, as there are multiple types. In this article, we will tell you about the Palworld Dark Eggs. These eggs, unlike what you might think due to their name, are not items to stay away from. If you are able to find some, you should consider yourself very lucky. But where are they located? Let's see their position together and everything there is to know about them.
Palworld Dark Egg Locations
If you are reading this article, it is because you learned about it through your friends, the Internet, or because you found one of the Palworld Dark Eggs. These are particular eggs that are not very easy to find, but there are some places where it is easier to find them. Actually, there are two methods to obtain these eggs. Let's see together what these are and what you need to do specifically.
Find Them in the Wild
The first method available to you to find the Palworld Dark Eggs is to explore the game world. Like anything else, in fact, it can be found in certain places. Precise locations are impossible to give because it will spawn randomly at the predetermined points where all types of eggs spawn. What does this mean? It means that all eggs will always spawn in the same place, even if we don't know what type of egg it is before it spawns.
However, although what we have just said is valid globally for the entire map, there are some specific points where the spawn rate of the Palworld Dark Eggs seems to be higher than in other places. Our advice, therefore, is to look in the mountains, as it seems to be the favorite place for this type of egg. By doing so, you will be able to collect several eggs in a single shipment.
However, when you are at the beginning of your adventure, we recommend heading west of the Plateau of Beginnings. We decided to show you this specific area because it is the easiest to deal with when you have just started the game, as the enemies to face are less powerful. If, once you arrive in position, the egg you are interested in is not present, collect what is there and deposit it in your base, and then return and hope that there is a Palworld Dark Egg to collect. By following this strategy, sooner or later, inevitably, you will collect one.
To speed up the whole process even more, our advice is to unlock the fast travel point called Small Settlement, so that you can go back and forth from the mountain to the base in a few seconds. This will save you a lot of time that you can spend actively searching for eggs. In this regard, don't forget to also check the large, craggy stone peaks that are present, as there are high chances that there are some Palworld Dark Eggs.
Breeding
The other method you can use to obtain this particular type of egg is breeding. In another article, we explained to you how this feature that is present in the game works and what the best breeding combos are, so we won't go into too much detail. In any case, just think that you will need two Pals, one male and one female, some cake to give to the creatures as food, and an incubator to carry out the incubation process. Obviously, in order for you to get a Dark Egg, you will have to breed Dark-type Pals together.
Palworld Dark Eggs Incubation Process
Now you know how to get Palworld Dark Eggs, so it's time for you to know everything about their incubation. Like all other types of eggs, in order for them to hatch and give you a Pal, you will have to put them inside an incubator. We have explained how to get an incubator in this article, but we repeat in broad terms what you need to do here too.
First of all, in order to unlock the incubator project, you will need to have ancient technology points. These are special points that can be acquired by defeating bosses for the first time. Also, keep in mind that you will need to be at least level 7 to unlock the incubator, but it is very likely that you already are. Once the project is unlocked, build the incubator with the necessary materials and place it inside your base. Now, you are ready for the egg to begin the incubation process.
In this regard, you will have to pay particular attention to the temperature. Although it will not influence in any way the type and statistics of the Pal that will come out of it, it is very important to keep an eye on it because it allows you to reduce incubation times. Fortunately, however, Palworld Dark Eggs do not require particular climatic conditions since they prefer regular ambient temperatures. As a result, unless your base is in extremely cold or hot areas, you won't have to worry about this.
But how long does it take for a Dark Egg to hatch? The first thing you need to know is that no two eggs are the same, so that means there are different times. In fact, there are three different types of Dark Eggs: standard ones, large ones and huge ones. Let's see together, therefore, what the waiting times are for each of the three egg sizes:
- Dark Egg: 10 minutes (5 minutes if comfortable)
- Large Dark Egg: 60 minutes (30 minutes if comfortable)
- Huge Dark Eggs: 120 minutes (60 minutes if comfortable)
Attention: these are the hatching times if you are playing on normal difficulty, if the difficulty is lower, the times will be shorter, if it is higher, the times will be longer (and by a lot) . As a result, you can decide to change the settings as you wish to speed up or slow down the process of incubating Palworld Dark Eggs.
