At 8th place in our Overwatch League 2022 Power Rankings is Dallas Fuel.
The team managed to keep some of its superstar signings of last year, and added some promising rookies from Contenders.
Dallas Fuel 2022 Roster
Tank:
- Han-been “Hanbin” Choi
- Eui-Seok “Fearless” Lee
Han-been “Hanbin” Choi and Eui-Seok “Fearless” Lee are back for a new Season with Dallas Fuel. The tanking duo joined the team last year when Dallas Fuel was reviving the old Element Mystic roster. Hanbin and Fearless are among the best tank players in the Overwatch League, respectively playing off-tanks and main tank heroes.
Support:
- Joon “Fielder” Kwon
- Hyeon-seok “ChiYo” Han
Joon “Fielder” Kwon was also part of Dallas Fuel last Season, even if he never played with Element Mystic. The former Paris Eternal player helped Dallas Fuel reach third place in the Overwatch League 2021 Playoffs. He mainly plays flex support heroes, especially Ana, Moira, and Baptiste.
Joining Fielder as the second support player of Dallas Fuel is Hyeon-seok “ChiYo” Han. The 18-year-old specializes in main support heroes and will play in the Overwatch League for the first time this season. Before joining Dallas Fuel, ChiYo played in the Korean Contenders with O2 Blast and RunAway.
DPS:
- Dong-ha “Doha” Kim
- Yeong-han “SP9RK1E” Kim
- Tae-hoon “Edison” Kim
- Min-seo “guriyo” Kang
Dong-ha “Doha” Kim and Yeong-han “SP9RK1E” Kim both stay with Dallas Fuel for one more Season. They joined the team last year as part of the Element Mystic roster revival. Both Doha and SP9RK1E play projectile heroes. And even if both are pretty good at it, Dallas Fuel lacked a hitscan specialist after the departure of Do-hyeon “Pine” Kim.
To fill that role, Dallas Fuel signed Tae-hoon “Edison” Kim, who played with Atlanta Reign last Season. His team reached second place in the Overwatch League Grand Finals for the first time last year. He is now joining Dallas Fuel and will hopefully get more playtime than he did with Atlanta Reign.
Min-seo “guriyo” Kang is completing the DPS lineup of Dallas Fuel this season. It will be the first time this hitscan specialist plays in the League, after a single year in Contenders. He placed 4th in Open Division 2020 with BlossoM, before joining Team Diamond in the Korean Contenders last season.
Dallas Fuel 2022 Power Rankings
Dallas Fuel is heading into this new Overwatch League Season with most of the roster it had last year. The new pickups seem promising, even if they will need to prove themselves worthy of the League.
The tank duo of Hanbin and Fearless is one of the best in the League, but the new dynamic of Overwatch 2 only leaves space for a single tank. As both are versatile and able to learn new heroes quickly, Dallas Fuel can count on a solid tank this Season – no matter which player is in the starting five.
The support players are also pretty good, with Fielder being one of the best flex supports in the League. Last but not least, Doha and SP9RK1E were a good duo last year. Adding a versatile player like Pelican and a hitscan rookie are good moves that should ensure Dallas Fuel stays in the top half of the rankings this season.
