Overwatch 2: Top 5 Heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 3

Season 3 in Overwatch 2 arrived, and it is safe to say that it changed the meta. We’ve already covered all of the hero changes, as well as everything else that’s new, so make sure to learn more about them.

A quick glimpse at the changelog will allow you to see that many of our favorite Overwatch 2 heroes are slightly different than before. Some of them received buffs, but heroes like Widowmaker got nerfed, which means they won’t be as good as before.

Even though Overwatch 2 Season 3 hasn’t been out for that long, we can already see that a couple of heroes feel much stronger than before. Naturally, people will want to use the best options in the meta to win their games. That’s why it is time to learn more about them and see what we can expect.

Kiriko

Regarding Overwatch 2 heroes that have been popular since the beginning, Kiriko is one of the first names that comes to mind. The top-tier support has been one of the go-to options for several months now, and it seems like she will continue to be the best support in the game.

One of the reasons why this support is so good is because of her mobility and damaged output. What’s more, she has 3 short-cooldown abilities that are way more effective when compared to the things that other supports have to offer.

Another reason why Kiriko deserves to be on the list is that she didn't receive any nerfs. In fact, Blizzard fixed some of the common issues that people had while playing with her. As a result, the hero feels even stronger than before.

Sojourn

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Sojourn will be among the hottest heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 3. The countless nerfs and tweaks definitely had an impact on her popularity. However, she continues to be the best DPS in the game, especially in the hands of those who hit their Railgun shots.

To be honest, we are surprised that the hero didn’t receive anything new in Season 3. Although she received several changes during Season 2, we thought that the Overwatch 2 devs would introduce even more new things. Fortunately, this isn’t the case, which means that she will continue to be one of the strongest heroes in the game.

Mercy

Regarding the top heroes in Overwatch 2 Season 3, we have to mention Mercy. She is the support that received loads of changes in the new match, and it seems like all of them were for the better.

According to the devs, they wanted to replace her Regeneration passive with something that’s slightly more interesting. Although it took them a while, Mercy’s new passive ability is called Sympathetic Recovery, and it allows the hero to heal herself for 25% of healing done with Caduceus Staff. In other words, the more she heals her allies, the more she’ll heal herself.

In addition to the new ability, Mercy’s Guardian Angel and Caduceuss Staff also got several changes. Despite the fact that she got some nerfs, we feel like the hero is even better than before. The fact that you can build your Valk faster by healing lower HP targets will definitely give the hero a huge advantage.

The self-HP regen is also great and robust because it will make killing Mercy easier said than done. It will be interesting to see whether the best players in the world will be able to deal with her.

Orisa

Besides the changes related to the hero’s HP in Role Que and non-Role Que, Orisa remains pretty much the same. In fact, the only new thing is related to her Augmented Fusion Driver, whose damage falloff range is now 15 meters instead of 25 meters.

Since Roadhog received a lot of nerfs lately, Orisa quickly became one of the hottest tanks in the game. You can learn more about the matchups she’s good at and the heroes she struggles against by checking this article.

Overall, Orisa will continue to be one of the most dominant heroes in Overwatch 2. Her ability to do damage, disrupt enemies, and tank almost everything make her really strong in the current meta.

This is the Overwatch 2 hero with one of the highest potential, as long as you know what you’re doing. Orisa will continue to be a solid pick in all skill brackets, so make sure to learn how to deal with the hero and what you need to be aware of.

Reinhardt

While talking about the top 5 Overwatch 2 heroes we need to keep an eye on during Season 3, we need to include Reinhardt. Even though he was a part of every Overwatch 1 match, the hero hasn’t been that big in OW 2. Tanks like Roadhog and Orisa have taken over the meta, but it seems like we have a new top-tier tank on the way.

Reinhardt is oen of the heroes that received loads of changes. In addition to those related to his HP in the Role Queue and non-Role queue, his Rocket Hammer, Charge, and Firestrike got buffs. Eartshatter is also better because it stuns for 0.25 longer, even though it deals less damage.

Overall, Rein is definitely much better than before, at least when it comes down to his damage output. However, he does not offer as much flexibility as Orisa because he is only good in close-range combat. Sure, the extra damage to his Firestrike is a plus, but we’re yet to see if it is enough to make him the go-to Overwatch 2 tank.

Conclusion
