The Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list you need to make sure to pick the right hero to win your competitive games.
The release of Overwatch 2 Season 5 brought its share of changes for all characters in the game, with some additional tweaks in the mid-season update. To make sure you’re favorite support character is still among the best to play in Season 5 or find out which one you should pick to win your games, this Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list gathers everything you need to know about support heroes.
S-Tier Heroes
If you are looking for support heroes who work well in most team compositions and on all maps, the S-tier characters from this Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list are the best ones to play right now.
Lucio
Lucio has been flirting with the top of our Overwatch 2 heroes tier list for a while now, and he finally reaches the S-Tier with the release of Season 5. His ability to change the pace of fights to help his team either dive on their enemies or retreat can make or break games, and his passive healing, huge armor boost with his ultimate, and overall ability to bother snipers and other isolated enemies make him a real threat on the battlefield.
Kiriko
Just like last season, Kiriko makes it to the highest tier of our Overwatch 2 Season 5 heroes tier list. Her kit is well-balanced and fits properly with the fast-paced dynamic of Overwatch 2. Kiriko is a reliable pick if you are looking for a support hero to win games in Overwatch 2 Season 5, even if it may take a little practice to master her mobility.
Baptiste
No matter the situation, Baptiste is one of the best support heroes to win games in Overwatch 2 Season 5. He can adapt to most team compositions, either playing from afar and shooting enemies alongside hitscan heroes, or joining the melee and providing passive healing through his Regenerative Burst. His Immortality Field can help his team survive long enough to take the upper hand on their enemies, making Baptiste a solid pick on all maps.
A-Tier Heroes
While being slightly less optimized than the heroes from the list above, characters from the A-tier section of our Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list are reliable picks you can select to win your competitive games this season.
Lifeweaver
Ever since the release of Lifeweaver, Blizzard has been tweaking this hero to make him viable in competitive games. While Lifeweaver’s kit is interesting, his large hitbox makes him an easy target for other heroes. The latest Overwatch 2 patch notes reduced Lifeweaver’s hitbox and increased his healing power, earning Lifeweaver a spot as an A-tier hero to play this season.
Overwatch 2 developers stated that they still had some improvements in store for Lifeweaver, so all hope isn’t lost for this support hero to eventually reach the S-tier section of our Overwatch 2 Season 5 heroes tier list.
Ana
Ana has always been at the top of all of our Overwatch 2 heroes tier list. Her kit makes her a deadly threat on the battlefield, and she can turn a fight upside down thanks to her Biotic Grenade or a well-timed Sleep Dart.
B-Tier Heroes
B-tier heroes are less efficient than other heroes from higher tiers but remain viable in specific settings or in the right hands.
Zenyatta
Zenyatta is one of the deadliest support heroes available in Overwatch 2 Season 5. When played properly, he can outmatch most DPS heroes, while providing his team with steady healing and one of the most powerful defensive ultimate abilities in the entire game. However, the current meta brings many of his counter-heroes to the forefront, preventing Zenyatta from reaching the S-tier section of our heroes tier list.
Brigitte
After a season of being one of the best heroes to carry games in Overwatch 2, Brigitte slightly loses her importance in the current meta. As Cassidy rises to the top of our list, the overall meta gets a little away from melee to favor positioning on high grounds and flankers. This team composition is not the best for Brigitte to shine, even if she remains a reliable hero if your team plays brawl and sticks together.
Meh-Tier Heroes
The heroes from the Meh-tier part of our Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list are not the best to play in competitive games this season. They are not terrible heroes, but others are better-balanced or offer a better synergy to play with other characters and increase your chances of winning your competitive games.
Moira
The Overwatch developers changed how Moira’s Fade works when she needs to escape some mobility-locking effects. While she used to be able to escape almost anything, Fade no longer makes Moira get out of Junkrat's Steel Trap, Sigma's Gravitic Flux, Zarya's Graviton Surge, and Cassidy's Magnetic Grenade. This change makes Moira more vulnerable than before, and with her playstyle not being the most effective with hitscan heroes that do not necessarily play together, she is not among the best support heroes to play in Overwatch 2 Season 5.
Mercy
Just because Mercy is in the meh-tier section of this Overwatch 2 Season 5 support tier list doesn’t mean she’s a terrible hero to play. Unfortunately, Mercy relies heavily on the DPS character she plays with, and since Pharah is not at the top of our Overwatch 2 Season 5 DPS tier list due to the popularity of hitscans, Mercy follows her down the depths of our rankings.
