One Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Groups Revealed

Now that the qualifiers for the second DPC tournaments are over, the teams can now focus on one of the biggest non-DPC tournaments in the last couple of years. The One Esports World Pro Invitational will begin in just a couple of days from now. Despite not providing any points for TI 10, it will still have a massive $500K USD prize pool. Naturally, the best teams in the world will be there to give it a shot. If you want to attend the tournament live, you can do so by visiting the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

With a few days before the action begins, the organizers of this event announced the group stage. As expected, the twelve teams will be divided into two groups, consisting of six teams each.

Group A

TNC Predator, Team Aster, Virtus.Pro, J.Storm, Alliance and Team Secret will have to determine which of them will advance to the Upper Bracket.  Judging by their recent performance, there are three teams that stand out here.

The SEA powerhouse TNC won the first Major of the year just a couple of weeks ago. However, their performance on the new patch during the qualifiers didn’t look that promising. In fact, they only narrowly won their slot for the next DPC tournament.

On the other hand, Team Secret took a break after TI 9. Despite being away for so long, they had little to no issues in the DPC quals. Naturally, they are the biggest favorites to win this group.

Lastly, we have Alliance, one of the most stable teams in the last months. They’ve proven that they can cope with the big names, but this will be their biggest challenge yet.

Group B

Unlike the first one, the second group of the tournament looks very deadly. At first glance, every single team has the potential to win. However, it seems like Vici Gaming, Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses are probably going to be the main competitors here.

Some people might say that PSG.LGD should also be on this list but we haven’t seen that much action from them since TI 9 came to an end. In fact, they returned for the second DPC qualifiers but got eliminated very early on. As a result, they will miss the next Major.

Vici Gaming and Team Liquid have been playing very well in the last couple of months. The Europeans had a very shaky start to the season but have been constantly on the rise ever since. On the other hand, the Chinese powerhouse has been dominating the Dota 2 world for a couple of years now. Even though they don’t win that many events, they always manage to get a good placement in them.

Evil Geniuses is also a very interesting name here due to their current roster. So far, everything seems OK with it but they are yet to face the big challenges ahead of them. This tournament will be a perfect test to see if their new roster has what it takes to take down the “big boys”.

Lastly, let’s not forget the two CIS teams – Na’Vi and Gambit. Both of them are playing very well recently, so they are definitely capable of upsetting even the biggest names in their group.

Conclusion

The One Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational will take place from the 17th of December all the way to the 22nd in Singapore. Be sure to watch it because it’s going to be absolutely epic. It will be the perfect Christmas gift for every Dota 2 player out there.
