OG Esports Has Joined Rocket League

Well-known for its notable achievements in Dota 2, OG Esports has joined a new Arena: Rocket League!

Today, OG Esports has announced that they are joining a third Esport (Alongside Dota 2 and Counter-Strike, after disbanding their Valorant team in 2022), Rocket League. For their Rocket League debut, OG Esports has recruited a formidable team.

Say hello to OG Rocket League:

Joseph “noly” Kidd

Jacob “JKnaps” Knapman

“Robert “comm” Kyser

“Kyle “torment” Storer

Regarding his organization's joining the Rocket League scene, Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Founder of OG Esports, said, “The time has finally come for us to venture into another esport classic! It's been a long time coming, but I'm super excited about getting into another competitive scene, and to work with amazing talent to achieve our best selves.”

According to the announcement, OG Esports built their Rocket League team around noly. Recently becoming Red Bull UK's first Rocket League athlete, noly has improved a lot over the years and has a lot of potentials to become a dominant, lasting name in Rocket League.

As a member of Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, noly contributed to back-to-back 5th-8th place finishes at RLCS 2021-2022 and RLCS 2022-2023- World Championships, a 5th-8th place finish at last year's Gamers8, and a 1st place finish at RLCS 2022-2023 – Fall Split Major. Last November, Gen.G Mobil1 Racing managed to defeat RLCS 2022-2023 champions, Team Vitality, 4-1 at the Flip & Spin- Finals.

comm has spent the past several years as a member of Version1, most notably part of the Version1 team that placed 1st at the Gamers Without Borders: North America Qualifier against Koi, followed by a first-place finish at Gamers8 with a strong 4-0 victory over Rule One.

JKnaps spent most of his career since 2017 as a member of a formidable G2 Esports team, with some of his most notable recent wins including a 2nd place finish at RLCS 2021-2022 and a 5th-8th place finish at RLCS 2022-23.

comm's former Version1 teammate, torment, will serve as OG Esports' head coach. Before joining Version1, torment had a fantastic run with Cloud9, racking up first-place finishes at DreamHack Atlanta 2017, RLCS Season 4- North America, RLCS Season 6- Finals, and DreamHack Pro Circuit: Dallas 2019. After retiring from active play in April 2023, torment took up a coaching job for the independent team of noly, comm, and JKnaps. Renamed Torment's Minions, OG Esports signed the entire roster to their organization.

noly and comm both rank in the top 10 of many Best Rocket League Players of 2023, and JKnaps is no slouch either. Having already perfected their team chemistry as Torment's Minions, OG Esports will definitely be a team to watch in RLCS 2024.

OG Esports will debut later this month as the Open Qualifiers for RLCS Major 1 kick off on January 26.
