NS Believes Ceb Will Permanently Move To OG

Analyst Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov believes Sébastien “Ceb” Debs will permanently move to OG next season

Just before their DreamLeague Season 20 opener against beastcoast, OG announced that Evgenii “Chu” Makarov will not be playing in the tournament as their support player and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs will come in as his temporary replacement.

Chu will continue to be a part of the OG setup, but his role has now shifted to that of an assistant coach. Initially joining the organization as a coach in December 2021, the 25-year-old later took on the position of support player, replacing Mikhail “Misha” Agatov, after leading the team to victory at ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and ESL One Malaysia 2022. Following OG's disappointing performance in the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I, however, the organization made the decision to rearrange the roster and assign Chu as an assistant coach.

The support role has been a problem area for OG over the years. OG have managed to build a solid foundation with players like Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev, Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov, and Tommy “Taiga” Le. Yet, the search for that missing piece – the ideal support player – continues.

Prominent Dota 2 analyst Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov believes Ceb can be the permanent solution to OG’s support woes. Ceb had previously spent five years at the club, and NS anticipates his return for another significant chapter.

The former Virtus.pro star first criticized swapping OG’s decision to swap Misha for Chu as he felt their playing abilities are identical. Here’s what he said in his Twitch stream:

“I've mentioned a hundred times that Misha and Chu are like two peas in a pod, practically identical. It doesn't matter who goes where – the outcome won't change. Both of them should be placed far away. That's why I suggested taking Ceb, with whom they won their only major championship. Finally, someone in OG realized that bringing in Ceb is a viable option.”

NS then went on to say he expects Ceb to return on a permanent capacity.

“It's evident that he is currently playing here as a substitute since he plays in the second division with Old G. However, I believe that if OG and Ceb work well together, he will transition to a permanent position in the next season. They may replace Yuragi, DM, or even both, and bring Topson in. Ceb's expertise will greatly enhance the team's performance. Additionally, Kitrak will be assigned to the “five” position, while Ceb himself will take the “three” position, and Taiga will handle the “four” position. This team will be absolutely amazing. However, these changes will take place a bit later, so please be patient.”
