Apex Legends has already broken records, boasting one million current players on release day and ten million unique players in the first four days. As a result, it will not be long before other teams start to follow in NRG's footsteps.
NRG, for its part, has rosters spanning multiple games, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Fortnite. NRG is also the team behind the Overwatch League franchise San Francisco Shock.
Respawn Entertainment simultaneously announced and released Apex Legends on Monday. The game itself is a twist on the tried and true battle royale formula. It adds in Overwatch-like abilities and respawn terminals to the map. The game is currently free to play and available on the EA Origin Client.
