NAVI Beat KOI to Qualify for Valorant Champions 2023

NAVI gain themselves a spot in VCT Champions 2023

After the dust settled from the VCT Masters Tokyo 2023, all eyes turned to the VCT Champions major event. After months of gruelling matches, the organisers have chosen the qualifying teams. There is, however, still room for one more team from all regions in the main competition. The struggle for the last available spot is in full swing as Natus Vincere prevailed over KOI with a 3-0 victory at the VCT EMEA LCQ final.

Despite competing in Masters Tokyo, NAVI is in the bizarre position of vying for victory at the LCQ. Teams in the Americas and Pacific who qualified for Masters got the red carpet treatment for Champions. Due to FNATIC's reign at LOCK//IN, the situation in EMEA is different, as four teams from that region participated in Masters. The Champions Tournament will now see five teams competing for glory from there.

Taken at face value, KOI faced utter domination from Natus Vincere. However, if we dive deep into the detailed scoreline of each map, it becomes evident that KOI put up a good fight each time. Regardless of their effort, this victory of the Masters Tokyo contender is unquestionably a well-deserved one, and they are indeed the worthy qualifier for the upcoming Champions event.

The score in Split was a close 14-12 in NAVI's favor. They then won Pearl by a score of 13-10 and Fracture by a score of 13-9. Since the VCT EMEA began, this was the Europeans' first victory over KOI.
