The 19-year-old will be temporarily replacing Epitacio “TACO” de Melon
Former Young Gods player Leonardo “n9xtz” Santos will be playing as a stand-in on 00NATION in the ongoing ESL Pro League Season 17. He will substitute the squad's two-time Major winner Epitacio “TACO” de Melon as the star will temporarily be away from the scene for personal reasons.
The organization verified the news to Dust2.com.br, promising them that they will clarify further regarding this matter very soon. The Brazilian side decided to make this temporary change in their roster with just days left until their Group Stage matches begin.
After displaying a rating of 0.98 and an impact of 0.94 across 39 maps over the last year, n9xtz went into an official break in November 2022.
The 19-year-old star will be facing some challenges due to the fact that he has been missing out on CSGO action since October 2022. Given that there are no records of him in the past 3 months, it might depend a lot on how he steers in the first few rounds.
Until TACO returns to his role, the Brazilian squad is expected to face all the action in Malta with the following lineup:
- Leonardo “n9xtz” Santos
- Marcelo “coldzera” David
- Bruno “latto” Rebelatto
- Lucas “nqz” Soares
- Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer
- Coach: Olavo “chucky” Napoleão
The current squad will play their first round match of EPL Season 17 against OG on March 8. Given that 00 Nation also have Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality and FaZe in their group, qualification to the Playoffs might be a tall order for them — especially with a stand-in who hasn’t played a competitive game in 3 months. However, the team did recently qualify for their local Regional Major Rankings for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, and that'll be a good morale boost.
