MDL Disneyland Paris Major Qualifiers Preview

The DreamLeague Season 11 Major has just finished over the weekend, and Vici Gaming managed to grab the trophy. Now it is time to focus on the next big tournament on the radar – the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. The qualifiers for arguably the most anticipated Major of this years’ Pro Circuit kick off tomorrow, March 28th, and we've got a first look for you in our MDL Disneyland Paris Major Qualifiers Preview. Let’s take a glance at every region, the qualifiers, and the teams that will fight for the honor to travel to Paris.

MDL Disneyland Paris Qualifiers

Europe

Starting tomorrow (28 March), Europe’s finest will have to battle each in order to secure themselves a spot at the Major. Three teams from this region will be going to the tournament.

Group A

Team Secret, SexyAsF, OG and The Final Tribe are the teams in the first group. At first glance, Team Secret is definitely the biggest favourite. Unless they make some major mistakes, not qualifying seems nearly impossible. On the other hand, the fight between the other teams here will be fierce.

This will be OG’s first “big games” with their TI-winning line-up after Ana returned to them. It will be interesting to see if If they can showcase the same performance as in TI last year.

Group B

Alliance, NiP, Team Liquid and Globlin Legs will have to duke it out in order to determine which one goes further. Similar to Group A,  there's a powerhouse in Group B. Team Liquid clearly outclasses the rest of the teams in this group.

Clearly, the most interesting game here will be between NiP and Alliance. The games will be unpredictable and exciting, just the way we like them. Regardless, Team Liquid is the team to beat in the European Group B.

China

Similar to the EU, three Chinese teams will be present in Paris and will be chosen through the qualifier.

Group A

Of course, the biggest favourite, not only in this group but in the entire event, is Vici Gaming. The Chinese powerhouse has been on a rampage recently after winning both StarLadder and DreamLeague S11 back-to-back.

EHOME and Newbee are the other two big names here. Sccc and his teammates are still struggling to show their full potential in this DPC season. On the other hand, EHOME is doing pretty well. The last team is Team Sincere.

Group B

Keen Gaming and PSG.LGD are the two titans in Group B. KG had a very good performance during DreamLeague just a few days ago. Hopefully, they will be able to bring their A-game in these qualifiers too. As for LGD, they were once considered to be the best team in China. After Vici's result at the DreamLeague Season 11 Major, however, this is definitely not the case.

The other two teams here are Royal Never Give Up and Royal.

North America

This is the last region with 3 representatives at MDL Disneyland Paris.

Group A

Evil Geniuses, Forward Gaming, J.storm and Team Team will all play the qualifier in Group A. This could be the most contested group of the entire qualifiers, even though EG are the clear favourites. The other three will definitely have to push themselves to the limits in order to secure a spot at the Major.

Group B

The second NA group is probably the “least interesting” one, at least in terms of big-name teams. The definite favourite is compLexity Gaming. Despite their recent troubles and problems they've faced throughout the season, look for them to make an impact. Fighting for Major berths alongside them are Vega Academy, Team Xolotl and gg and gg.

South America

The Dota 2 scene in South America is getting bigger and bigger with each event. Despite their recent growth, the region will receive only two slots for the upcoming Major.

Group A

Chaos Esports Club and Thunder Predator are the two teams that stand out the most here. Both of them played in some of the DPC events so far and they’ve shown that they have what it takes to bring down opponents which are supposedly better than them. Pacific eSports and Gorillaz-pride are the other two teams in this group.

Group B

The second group is occupied by two Brazilian squads, Infamous and Demolition Boys. Infamous should be able to deal with the competition here. The second spot in the group will be the more contested one of the two.

Southeast Asia

Group A

SEA is definitely one of the most interesting regions in this season of Dota 2. That said, similar to SA, they will only have two representatives, of which one will surely be Fnatic. They are in Group A alongside WG.Unity, Boom ID and Neon Esports. The Indonesian squad (Boom) have shown some signs of improvement, but they have yet to make their mark in some of the bigger events.

Group B

This group will definitely be a lot more interesting to watch compared to Group A. Mineski, TNC Predator, EVOS esports and Tigers will have to determine which of them will go further.

Mineski have recently gone through some roster changes, which means that they may not perform at their best. Kuku’s team is probably the biggest favourite, but Dendi and Co. will surely have something to say about that.

CIS

Group A

Last, but certainly not least, comes the CIS region, where Virtus.Pro has seemingly ruled for ages. Ramzess and his teammates have played in the Grand Finals of every Major event so far, which is simply mind-blowing. The other three teams fighting against them are Old But Gold, Team Empire and iLTW’s new team – CoM19SpadaNJI.

Group B

Gambit Esports is the other big name in CIS, at least during this DPC season of play. They will have to fight against Na’Vi, FlyToMoon and Ujvajenie. After Dendi’s departure, Na’Vi are still struggling to find their optimal playstyle, which will be a problem for them here as they look to make it to Paris.

Final Thoughts

The MDL Disneyland Paris Major closed qualifiers are set to start tomorrow. Be sure to watch most of them because they will definitely be worthwhile.
