Evil Geniuses look set to have locked in their 2021 LCS starting roster after sticking with Daniel “Jiizuke” Di Mauro.
Jiizuke will join up with three new signings Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong from Team Liquid and Lawrence “Lost” Sze Yuy Hui from the TSM Academy and Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun from FlyQuest. Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnson is expected to remain as the sides starting jungler. This means that once confirmed, Evil Geniuses has locked down their 2021 LCS roster.
Jiizuke signed for EG at the end of 2019 and had a mixed season with the side. The signing of Impact and IgNar, however, is likely to play into his more aggressive style. These could see Jiizuke become the player EG wanted when they signed him. Towards the end of the Summer Split, EG bought in Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer as they looked to push for Worlds, however, he was not retained for 2021 so Jiizuke will now remain.
Jiizuke spent two amazing years at Team Vitality, with the title “Italian Stalion” seeing him become a standout amongst the talented European mid lane pool. Since joining the LCS, Jiizuke has seemingly become a forgotten man, despite his style seemingly fitting perfectly with EG’s “evil” style.
Regardless, EG is now locked in, and with coach Peter Dun looking to get his magic working in the LCS, EG could well be an outside contender for a spot in Spring Split playoffs even at this early stage.
