OverActive Media, the holding company for LEC side Splyce and Spanish LoL side MAD Lions has announced plans to rebrand the Splyce LEC team to its MAD Lions brand.
The team will also make three new additions to the starting roster in former mousesports jungler Zhiqiang “Shadow” Zhao, support Norman “Gistick” Kaiser and former Berlin International Gaming AD carry Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság.
MAD Lions will now look to build a roster around mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brázda while promoting top laner Andrei “Orome” Popa to the starting roster after former top laner Tamás “Vizicsacsi” Kiss retired from professional League of Legends.
During the offseason, MAD Lions also lost Tore “Tore” Hoel Eilertse to Excel Esports and Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir to Origen. This led the plucky Worlds hopefuls to head into 2020 with an almost full fresh roster.
Going into the 2020 season, MAD Lions look set to run the following roster:
Top – Orome
Jungle – Shadow
Mid – Humanoid
ADC – Carzzy
Support – Gistick
Worlds 2019 has marked the end of Splyce. A side that no one expected anything from, that almost took down SKT. Splyce’s story now ends with MAD Lions taking its place. With Humanoid set to be the team’s go-to guy. With an exciting team of young players, MAD Lions will look to channel some of the same spirit and eye for talent which saw the Spanish side which saw them turn hot young talent like Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek and Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek both now with Fnatic into LEC stars.
