Big LCS news this evening as it’s been reported that Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon is set to move from Dignitas to join Evil Geniuses.
Huni, who spent Spring as part of Dignitas now looks set to make a huge mid-season move to Evil Geniuses. The news would bring an end to a messy saga that saw Huni become one of the highest-paid players in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). According to a report by ESPN.
Back in early November, it was reported that Huni would be earning $2.3M in guaranteed money over the course of the next two years from his contract with Dignitas. That saga will now come to an end for Dignitas as Huni will negotiate new terms with Evil Geniuses. The term is, as expected, to be considerably lower than what Huni is currently on at Dignitas.
One issue that the transfer does raise for Evil Geniuses comes in the form of the team's high number of international players. LCS rules state that only two international players can play at any given time. With four already on the side's 10 man roster, changes are likely to be forthcoming.
What all this means is that Huni and mid-laner Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro will likely be the starting international players. That leaves ADC Bae “Bang” Jun-sik, and mid-laner Ahmad “Giyuu” Charif in the Academy or looking to move on. What that means for NA fans is that American Academy ADC Matthew “Deftly” Chen will likely be the starting ADC.
Dignitas has allowed @Huni to explore other opportunities in advance of the LCS Summer Split.

North American Residency
In the report, it is noted that while Huni is not a guaranteed starter for Evil Geniuses, the team could be at an advantage if he plays at least 50%. If Huni plays at least 50% of the Summer Split games he'll be able to apply for North American residency. This could free up valuable space on the roster if it was approved.
Huni’s former side Dignitas has had a busy week already. Today, they replaced Huni with top laner Omran “V1per” Shoura. Yesterday, they brought in Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett as the new starting jungler for Summer Split.
The LCS Summer Split will begin on June 13. For more League of Legends and esports news, follow ESTNN on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
