Brazilian side Imperial have announced Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes' departure
Imperial Esports have officially announced the departure of Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes, bringing an end to the one-year journey of the 25-year-old rifler with the organization. Chelo is the second player who has parted ways with the organization over the past 24 hours. Earlier, Imperial had confirmed that Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, who was their in-game leader last season, would be playing for a new team next season. Both players have been heavily linked with a move to rival organization FURIA.

chelo became a part of Imperial in August 2022 and shortly after his arrival, he established himself as a key figure in the roster. His Imperial stint highlights include winning the ESL Brazil Premier League Season 14, attaining second place at the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, and making it to the semi-finals of both the FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals and the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023.

According to emerging reports, Cespedes is in the running to take over the position previously held by André “drop” Abreu at FURIA. The Brazilian powerhouse have already announced a vacancy in the rifler position after letting go of drop a few days back.
